It's not worthy when it's based on fantasy and stupidity. For example, believing all the polls are wrong and biased simply because you don't like the results and some random dude tells you what you want to hear, despite there being no scientific basis. When that's what you base your beliefs on, yes, you should expect to be dismissed and considered not worth of engaging.

So let me get this right....

Obama is elected President, and the Republican power wielders openly concede that their entire objective is to ensure Obama is not re-elected and that healthcare reform is his "Waterloo".

    Fast forward 4 years.....

Obama is relected President in a race not as close as expected, and now Boehner is upset that Obama won't play nice and wants to destroy the GOP?

How out of touch can you possibly be.... A republican out of touch with the consequences of their actions? Who da thunk it?

No, there can reasonable disagreements. The GOP isn't interested in that, they just want to be obstructionists and bigots. There are some GOP members that are great. The problem is the extremist wing. Also, it's hard to respect a party who actively opposes civil rights (gay marriage).

So you had more respect for Dick Cheney and John Bolton than Obama until a few months ago?

GOP OKs platform barring abortions, gay marriage
By ALAN FRAM and PHILIP ELLIOT | Associated Press – Wed, Aug 29, 2012 8:52 AM EDT

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Republicans emphatically approved a toughly worded party platform at their national convention Tuesday that would ban all abortions and gay marriages, reshape Medicare into a voucher-like program and cut taxes to energize the economy and create jobs.

They apparently don't know how to motivate beyond methods of threat and fear.

So sad. Such poor losers. We saw this when they tried to impeach Clinton for a blow job because they were pissed off they lost the election.

Calm down, commodore, nothing has actually changed in your life. It is still relatively comfortable. You can still dream of winning the lottery or agonize that if you somehow could become a a famous rich golfer from California how annoying it might be to actually experience a high tax rate.

The Republicans want fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget. Obama wants the government to be able to spend as much as it wants, whenever it wants.

For those of you who are critical of the GOP, why is fiscal responsibility a bad thing?

Then why did their champion propose a budget plan with massive tax cuts that increases the deficit?

Why do they dissemble and refuse to explain which budget cuts they want?

Why do they repeatedly go to the mat for billionaires in order to keep the budget from being balanced?

    Etc ad nauseum.

Fiscal responsiblity isn't a bad thing, it's neither good nor bad - as I've said 100 times, there is nothing immoral about government deficits or surpluses, but there are times when it's bad for the economy or not required (the last few years has been one of those times...)

Debate isn't possible because wingnuts say and believe things like "Obama wants to spend ALL of the money ALL of the time!!"

Others have already covered it, fiscal responsibility is a good thing, but I don't think anybody should be deluded into thinking that the republicans lacked serious objectivity and simply wanted Obama out, whether it meant at the cost of the country or not.

They are frozen statues unable to adapt to the changing times and will die off if they don't.

Wah! Obama is alpha dog, but he's not a pure bred like us. Why does he have to be alpha all the time? Why won't he let us be the alpha dog for just a little bit?

    By the way...

"Our goal is to inflict pain. It is not good enough to win; it has to be a painful and devastating defeat. We're sending a message here. It is like when the king would take his opponent's head and spike it on a pole for everyone to see."

"[Democrats] will only become acceptable once they are comfortable in their minority status. Any farmer will tell you that certain animals run around and are unpleasant, but when they've been fixed, then they are happy and sedate."

That's Grover Norquist, the guy that has most Repub Congressmen by the balls.

By the way, seems like Repubs are doing a fine job of self-annihilation.

But wait.... what about their proposed theory of the body's defense mechanism that prevents such a scenario?
