Hopefully one day Patterson will be taking a crap and Samuel L Jackson will kick the bathroom door open with a gun in his hand come close to his face and ask "rebounds mother****er. Do you get?" Otherwise he'll never change.

Good shot blockers blocks even the greatest players...especially your shortest players ie you point guards. It's simple physics up to point....you just have to attach from all angles and hope for the best.

Biyombo had a flukey 7 blocks last game. It was ridiculous and painful watching him block Harden and lin so many times again and again.

Well, fully anticipated that Denver would blow us out. Still, how it went down was pretty ugly.

    Looking back at the game...

    1Q - 21-27

We actually played well... WHEN we could hold onto the ball. Why were we down? Pretty obvious...

    11:11 Omer Asik bad Pass
10:41 Omer Asik bad pass (Faried steals)
    8:52 Jeremy Lin bad pass
7:50 Chandler Parsons bad pass (Ty Lawson steals)
6:24 Omer Asik bad pass (Kosta Koufos steals)
5:16 Patrick Patterson turnover (offensive foul)
3:19 Patrick Patterson bad pass (Corey Brewer steals)
3:04 James Harden bad pass (Andre Igoudala steals)

8 TO's and down 6 points. In other words, the TO's killed us.

2Q - 44-46 - Team actually played well. Tightened up on Defense, cut down on the turnovers and closed the lead to get us within 2.

3Q - Was looking good at the start, staying within 2 points until 5:56 of the 3rd quarter. And then....

    5:33 Shot clock turnover
4:35 James Harden bad pass (Wilson Chandler steals)

8 point swing right there. And down 11 at 3:27, they sub in Beverly for Lin. Waiting on the spark...

2:39 Patrick Beverly bad pass (Wilson Chandler steals)
2:21 James Harden bad pass (Ty Lawson steals)
1:54 Omer Asik bad pass (Wilson Chandler steals)

Another 6 point swing. Team is now down 15 points... at 1:53 they sub in TD for Harden. We end the quarter down 16 points.

4Q - Lin sits the entire 4th quarter. Parsons and Omer Asik stays in until 1:42 of the 4th. Harden stays in until 1:09.

At 9:18 of the 4th we were down 21 points, and they STILL played Parsons, Asik and Harden for another 8 mins.

    Chandler Parsons - 29 mins
    Omer Asik - 34 mins
    James Harden - 39 mins
    Jeremy Lin - 24 mins

We lost mainly because our players couldn't hang onto the ball.

    Omer Asik - 4 TO
    James Harden - 7 TO
    Patrick Patterson - 2 TO
    Chandler Parsons - 2 TO
    Jeremy Lin - 2 TO

Everyone NOT Aldrich or James Anderson - 1 TO

If you're NOT the PG and NOT named James Harden, you shouldn't have a TO. And even then, 7 is WAY too many.

As for the minutes and rotation, all I have to say WTF when it comes to these substitutions? 21 points down and you keep the starters in?

I get why they Rested Lin for the 4th... the game was out of reach. However, why were Parsons, Asik AND Harden still in?

And seriously, is it THAT hard to box out Javale Magee?

I seriously wonder how long this can go on before Morey starts to question McHale and his coaching staff...

I'm not, I know he turns the ball over a lot and that he needs to work on that and also needs to be rested more (no reason he should have stayed late in todays game). Just saying that he isn't the only one to do it.

Dexler once said (seems too long ago), when Lin's orchestrating the offense, the team looked organized and everyone knew where they're supposed to be.

Now, we're so disorganized...so hard to understand what the coaching staff were thinking.

Seriously, watching the Rockets playing now is becoming a chore. I don't mind losing since the Rockets have done it many times in the past, but at least it was watchable. Now they are run by a coach who has no idea how to run a simple play and doesn't care about defense. This team is becoming a joke.

Yeah, I don't understand keeping your best player in the game for so long, especially when the game was clearly out of reach.

I bet he feels like utter crap right now, physically and mentally.

I think it's because he is worried about getting benched since Mchale does not seem to trust him. Lin played with so much confidence and definitely more aggressive when he played for D'antoni; I think it's because D'antoni did not roll his eyes at Lin when he made a mistake, so he played with confidence knowing his coach had his back. You can't really blame Lin because a player shouldn't go against his coach.

It's a way for Mchale and Sampson to say, Lin, I don't like you. They've been saying this all along. It started in the Portland game when Lin was benched in the entire OT and most of the 4th WHEN LIN WAS DOING WELL. What else could it be?

Mchale had rough few months and I feel for the guy...but he really has to stop screwing with the minutes of his players. He can't keep benching Lin, he can't switch up TD and so on.

He needs to figure out once and for all who are the starters and who are the back ups and who are the garbage minute players. For a young team playing around with their minutes and benching them at times can mess with their confidence and in turn will make them hesitant on defense and especially offense.

Why isn't Anderson getting more minutes so he can take jump in for Harden from time to time?

One day when lin writes his autobiography, he will devote an entire chapter to this season, mchale, and Sampson, and how he even had to overcome his own coaches... Then we will know the details to all this idiocy which right now is only leaving us to scratch our heads.

lol just listening to the post game show. the host of the radio believes lin got torched by lawson. If I counted correctly they dueled each other with 9 points against each other.

The rotations are jacked up and this pocket square offense isn't going to cut it. when you have teen wolf sets stagnating the offense, it makes it easier for the other team's defense. We want democratic ball, mctalky and sampson!

I doubt there is any conspiracy against Lin or any dislike of him. He's just one of many young players receiving inconsistent minutes (and playing inconsistently) on this team. As Jason Friedman pointed out, Asik gets benched in the 4th and for significant stretches from time to time for offensive or matchup reasons, so do Parsons and of course all of the PFs. Whether Toney Douglas or Patrick Beverley plays seems pretty random-- coaches just trying to see if either one of them can give the team a spark (tonight, neither really did... these guys play pretty hard, but not always effectively). The backup C situation also kind of switches from Greg Smith to Cole Aldrich and then back without much rhyme or reason except for the team is just trying to find a consistent performer.

The only two guys that coaches really trust pretty much without reservation are Harden (the only proven star player) and Delfino (the only real veteran). With the rest of them the coaches are just either playing the hot hand or trying to find the hot hand.

Exactly. But if they want consistent play, how about you give them consistent minutes!

That still doesn't explain burning Harden for 41 minutes when the team is down 21 points with 9 minutes to go against Denver. It's not like we were playing the Wizards.

How often does a team come back from 21 points down? Even VERY good teams? And against legitimate play off teams?

Looking for a spark is one thing, mismanaging your player minutes is inexcusable.
