And the country will be better for it.

    ;)

Seriously, why should he lift a hand to the other side just to have it slapped away again and again? Mr Obama tried to reason with the other side for 4 years and look what it got.

Why would he? Obama has actually endorsed Republican positions time and time again, and Republicans then switched their own support of it, after Obama decided he was in favor of the things they supported previously.

The health care bill was tailored to Republican demands, and filled with Republican amendments, yet they didn't vote for it.

It takes two groups to work across the aisle. Obama has shown on multiple issues that he was willing. The Republicans have not.

hilarious that Obama didn't even mention jobs in his speech. Tells you all you need to know about his incompetence

The whole speech was about jobs.

In fact there were three direct mention of jobs.

But we have always understood that when times change, so must we; that fidelity to our founding principles requires new responses to new challenges; that preserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action. For the American people can no more meet the demands of today’s world by acting alone than American soldiers could have met the forces of fascism or communism with muskets and militias. No single person can train all the math and science teachers we’ll need to equip our children for the future, or build the roads and networks and research labs that will bring new jobs and businesses to our shores. Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation and one people.

We do not believe that in this country freedom is reserved for the lucky, or happiness for the few. We recognize that no matter how responsibly we live our lives, any one of us at any time may face a job loss, or a sudden illness, or a home swept away in a terrible storm. The commitments we make to each other through Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security, these things do not sap our initiative, they strengthen us. (Applause.) They do not make us a nation of takers; they free us to take the risks that make this country great.

The path towards sustainable energy sources will be long and sometimes difficult. But America cannot resist this transition, we must lead it. We cannot cede to other nations the technology that will power new jobs and new industries, we must claim its promise. That’s how we will maintain our economic vitality and our national treasure -- our forests and waterways, our crop lands and snow-capped peaks. That is how we will preserve our planet, commanded to our care by God. That’s what will lend meaning to the creed our fathers once declared.

did you even read that? Not convincing. He didn't lay out any kind of plan or even emphasize jobs. 3 tangential references aren't nearly enough to show that he actually cares. He was more interested in throwing bones to his lefty base like saying he'll actually do something about climate change

LOL- MC Mark shows how lazy Dinotex is and crushes his pathetic comment, Dinotex tries to change the subject instead of admitting he was wrong, the most pathetic and childish way to argue.

Yes, I read it. It's too bad you are so lost in your hate you can't read it with an open mind and heart and possibly hear it as an American. Not a hateful troll.

Well, it's because texxx wasn't doing his own thinking. What texxx said is exactly what was being said on FOX news. So texxx was just unoriginal. He may have not had any idea what Obama said or didn't say.

It just goes to show that when you listen to FOX news there's a good chance you're getting bad information.
