Your going to have a hard time convincing me that the staff changed their strategy after a long winning streak. Young teams are very inconsistent. The Bobcats are young also and have consistency issues as well. Just because they were able to get out and run on the Bobcats doesn't mean they will outgun a team like Okc or even some lower seeds like Denver. On paper this team was put bottom 5 by almost every nba analyst. It's hard for me say the coaches are the biggest problem when they are outperforming their record. The coaches are fine for now they are giving these guys a chance to develop and show what they have. I don't care about their record this year as I only care about building a championship level team. When such team is formed I have confidence that this organization can go out and find the best coach for the job.

Not trying to convince. Just telling what I see. Could be wrong, but the shift looked too dramatic.

Iman Shumpert would fit perfectly next to Harden in the backcourt, with the description the writer gives of a prototypical running mate.

Maybe we should look into that once Morey trades away Lin, in a few years.

Harden had a no step vertical of 37 inches before his draft. I would say he is somewhat athletic...unless you don't want him to be.

I am a LOF and I believe if lin be the 6th man he would be more effective. I don't understand why the coaches didn't figure this out yet. Players like Ginobly, j.r smith and Etc all come of the bench and have huge impact on the game. Atleast give it a try.

Shumpert is a solid defensive player, perhaps a little overrated. Nevertheless, he could check 2's and play second ball handler. Offensively he was a pretty terrible from the field. Especially from beyond the arch. I don't see how that's a good fit next to Harden. Not exactly what we need at that spot. Someone like Kyle Lowry would be perfect.

I was thinking someone more attainable in regards to Shumpert. Of course Kyle would be perfect but he was the cost of what it took to trade for Harden, too bad really.

Shumpert could provide great perimeter defense as well as a few steals per game, but there really aren't too many 1's out there that can provide defense and 3 point shooting as well.

Maybe a guy like George Hill, in Indy? Or to an even further extent someone like Kyrie Irving, we all know he's pretty much untouchable right now.

    Agreed.

I never get the point of HATING on someone on our own team and WANTING THEM TO FAIL?

If they fail then that means we lose.

    Who the F**K wants that?

That would be my dream too.

Also to include in that dream list:

    -Asik improves catching and converting
-One of our PF's become a rebound machine and be more consistent from 3 land
-Lin getting over 35% from 3 land
-Harden giving up the ball and passing when he gets locked down on a double team
    -We fix our turnover problem

Tell me what you all think about this....

Before James Harden was signed, the Rockets were trying to build a team that would maximize Lin's skill sets. I believe the selection of the players by Morey were very "Monreyballed" to take advantage of this configuration. It was to play to Lin's strengths as a ball-dominating PG that penetrates and has good court vision and distribution.

    Then James Harden was signed.

When Morey had the chance to snag Harden there was no way he was going to pass on it, even though all of his plans up to this point were to design a team around Lin that had growth potential with a young team. I don't think anyone had inflated expectations for the Rockets to even make the play offs this year, right? Everyone was hoping (and Morey did) that they would do decently over .500 and build toward greater heights.

He HAD to sign Harden and he did.

But this threw a wrench into the works....

    Sort of.

Harden plays a ball dominant, hybrid SG/PG who doesn't need anyone to bring up the ball and direct him. He's essentially Carmelo Anthony with passing ability.

So while Harden's not as bad as Carmelo as far as being an isolated player, and does dish more, he's very much a "I'm going to do this, everyone cover me or be ready to spot up and shoot when everyone collapses on me." While not as a selfish style as Melo, it's not really play making is it?

But here's the thing, if they would just play the team as initially designed with Lin as the PG directing office and HOLDING THE BALL, then the rest of the team would play better.

    INCLUDING HARDEN.

The team was cherry-picked-Moreyballed to play around Lin. So why not do this? The team as a whole would work better. Harden might see a dip in his stats but the rest of the team would flourish.

Instead we are playing Carmelo Anthony ball. Kobe Ball. And what happens in each of these examples is the team's star excels and the team at best finishes around .500

The only reason the Knicks aren't at .500 right now is because Ray Felton got to play the Lin role and forced everyone else to go through him. The minute he got injured the Knicks started to degrade quickly.

This is SOOOOO much like the movie "Moneyball" it's hilarious. The GM has designed a team to work one way and the coach refuses to play the team the way the GM designed it. It took the team trading away the start that the coach and the fans loved for the team to be finally played as designed and well we all saw the film.

    That's where we're at now.

    Give Lin the ball.

Seriously. If he fails and you're a hater, then you'll get to crow "I told you so." If you're wrong we'll win a LOT MORE.

No. You got it all wrong. If anything, there's an enormous disdain for all LOFs, not so much for Lin himself.

Also, unlike the 2012ers, long time posters are all real rox fans, who will never wish the team fail.

    LOFs, on the other hand:
    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7559129&postcount=1356

"Damn, wish we would've lost", only because Lin was sitting in the 4th. That's coming from someone who I thought was a fairly reasonable LOF. Now you wonder why we have so many LOFH (LOF Hater) on this board...

I am sure Lin's game (scoring himself and assisting) will not suffer when Harden takes a lot of shots, and the condition is that they each has a ball at the same time. Same condition vice versa.
