    Flynn?

Please, people need to stop reaching with QBs and WRs. The Texans won't get a new QB unless career ending injury or horrific season after the embarrassing playoff loss. The 2014 draft will probably have a better selection of QBs anyway.

So we're comparing Schaub and Flacco only on accuracy and arm strength on deep throws?
At least we agree on Luck
Not really sure how or why one wouldn't be optimistic about Roethlisberger's future. So why are you not optimistic about his future?

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HAVE YOU PEOPLE NOT LEARNED YOUR LESSON FROM MATT SCHAUB!!!!!!

NO MORE BACK UPS AND LATE ROUND DRAFT PICKS PLEASE.

Why cant people figure out that the overwhelming majority of great hall of fame level QBs are drafted in the early rounds.

Tom Brady is the exception not the rule.

this isnt that hard to figure out.

If the Texans drafted a QB in the first or second round, what trade value do you think Yates would command?.

ok even IF the management do decide on a qb change... flynn? Ever heard about this PROVEN starting qb who recent got benched in the bay area cause his team wanna go with the younger and more athletic backup qb? Yep, word is he'll get released in the offseason.

what an absurd suggestion by the OP.

Flacco has been extremely good - elite-level good - these past two postseasons. But people need to show a *little* perspective. Here's an article titled, "Joe Flacco Must Get His Act Together, or These QBs Could Replace Him in 2013" - it was written 30 days ago.

Viewing a much larger sample size reveals an inferior QB:

    Flacco, '10-'11 (regular season):
    58.6 comp. %; 6.9 YPA; 42 TDs; 22 INTs; 66 sacks; 22 wins

    Schaub, '10-'11 (regular season):
    63.2 comp. %; 7.8 YPA; 37 TDs; 18 INTs; 43 sacks; 19 wins

Keep two things in mind: Schaub played six fewer games and submitted a four-game stretch this year so bad, it's launched a seemingly endless number of "Ditch Schaub" threads. And his numbers are *still* better (his 32-game projections: 46 TDs, 22 INTs, 53 sacks; 23 wins; 557 more passing yards and 44 fewer passing attempts).

Now, it's very possible the light has flickered on for Flacco and he'll build on this and be the better QB moving forward. But Raven fans more or less thought the exact same thing this time last year and he had a pretty mediocre season. I'm telling you, prior to the playoffs, every Raven fan thought about Flacco the same way a lot of you think about Matt Schaub. And I bet even now, there are a collection of Raven fans terrified that Flacco is about to get a giant, long-term contract.

He's younger and has a much more impressive postseason resume - so I'd deal Schaub for him, no question. But he's a Ray Rice converting an improbable 4th and 29 away from being first round playoff fodder.

He just beat the Broncos and the Ravens on the road. It's that easy of a call for you that he would have lost to the Texans in the 1st round??

Flacco to the Texans talk is irrelevant anyway, the Ravens are either locking him up or franchising him before next season.

not to mention one of the worst plays on the ball by a safety in prevent defense history.

Vince Young is still on the market. We should pay him around $8 mil a year for 5 years and lock him him. He is from Texas. He knows we like to win in Texas. His Texas Pride will make him work 1000000X harder. We will win ProBowl next year with Vince Young.

    BRING HIM IN BOB MCNAIR.

Pretty much nothing. You'd do good to get a 5th rounder to replace the one you spent on him initially. Current backups who are seen as starters on other teams can get somewhere around multiple 2's or 3's. We traded 2 2nd round picks and traded down 2 spots in the first round in order to get Schaub. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone really views Yates as a future starter and they're not going to give up very much for a backup.

Schaub beat the Broncos on the road.

He's been very impressive for five consecutive postseason starts; I have no hesitation giving him his due. I also don't think we should let five games trump 32. Like Eli Manning, he's a wildly uneven regular season QB. Unfortunately, to thrive in January, you have to first play well enough to be invited to the party. (Ask Eli about that...)

i was referring to you writing off the ravens as "playoff fodder" if rice hadn't converted the 4th and 29 a month earlier. they still would have been in the playoffs.
