    This Charles Krathamer (sp) guy, does anyone take him seriously? Is this guy for real, I thought they only trotted him out for the election, is this guy a fixture?

    The spending issue is the key to our national future and was barely mentioned. If you keep spending more than you have your finances will ultimately collapse. Then you have zero entitlements. Then what? In some ways Obama reminds me of a teenager who thinks credit cards are magical unlimited money. Spending without limit sounds good, but according to the U.S. Accounting Office is "unsustainable." I am no "country club" Republican and I am largely anti-corporation and pro labor, but I understand the rules of basic budgeting. Someone please explain why unlimited spending is a good thing and won't have any negative consequences such as hyper inflation and devaluation of currency.

    It is not about unlimited spending as much it is about borrowing and spending in the midst of economic depression with interest rates near the zero bound.

    If you want to get panties in a bunch about the deficit, then that opportunity was missed nearly a decade ago when a surplus was turned into a deficit by playing Santa Claus to the wealthy with tax cuts and picking wars around the world, enriching defense contractors.

    Life isn't black and white. Analysis is necessary. Facts are useful. From Smith to List to Mill to Ricardo to Marx to Polanyi to Keynes, western civilization has learned to deal with economic collapse (http://www.econlib.org). But this is the D&D. So never mind.

    The Lesbian and Gay National Band followed by the Native American Female Warriors and the National Hispanic Dance Alliance.

    Peter Schiff has lost a couple of billion waiting for "inevitable" hyperinflation.

    guess santa claus is coming later.

    you know, what with 2009 and 2010 having actual negative money growth, and single digit money growth for 2011 and 2012, it might just be another while.

    Basic budgeting does not apply to macroeconomics.
    Microeconomics != Macroeconomics.
