I'd rather have gasol than josh smith. Pau is just being asked to do something he is not used to. It's like asking a pathetic three point shooter to stand at the three for shots. =/
LOL I was desperately looking for a way to do a trade while keeping Lin, Harden, Parsons, Asik... Toronto gets a pick each from LA and Houston (late 2nd rounder), and some cash. In Morey we would trust to fill the holes in the roster...he can pull a Beverley out of his sleeve anytime! PG Lin, Beverley SG Harden, A. Anderson SF Parsons, J. Anderson PF Gasol, T. Jones, Motiejunas C Asik, G. Smith We could play twin towers and have our young guys run circles around them!
If we were to trade for gasol we'd basically need to send out one of our 3 major contracts, if not like 6-7 players which is too much. So if we'd bring in pau, lin would be the man out unless you'r going to send asik out which i think is not worth it.
I bet he wishes he was in houston now lol I wouldn't mind gasol at all he will get plenty of touches on our team and especially when we are struggling shooting the ball it would be nice to have somebody as skilled as gasol down in the post. He would be a perfect pick n pop or pick n roll player with harden and Lin. I think he would want to be here and play here if we got him plus the added motivation and chip on his shoulder he would have he will come and play ball for us
Let's put into perspective just how crappy Pau's contract is..... according to draft machine.... Pau 19M to offset at 13.5M it takes: Delfino Parsons PPat MMo DMo TJones TD GSmith 8 for 1.... talk about taking up some cap space....lol
A Line up with Pau, Asik, Lin, Harden and Parson would be so much better than the situation now with the Rockets and a lineup of Howard, Nash, Artest, PPat, and Kobe would work just fine in laker land...
I'd love Gasol. This 2013 free agent class sucks. Buy low, and have him expire in time for the 2014 class.
If the Lakers eat a majority of this years contract would u do a trade for Pau???(PPat and Aldrich??)
Face it. CP3 and DH12 are staying in LA. That said, Gasol for the rest of 2013 and 13-14 at 19 mil/yr is a better option than Josh Smith for the next 4-5 yrs at 15 mil/yr. Gasol would be a good bridge to the stacked 2014 free agency class.
Im wondering if the Lakers have used their Amnesty yet??? and if so...when will they do it to Pau...lol....
Actually Delfino, TD, MM, PP and Aldrich would work if you cut anderson as well. So that package for Gasol and cash (for anderson's contract) would work nicely. Ps. Not sure if we can cut anderson or what the deal is on that since we just signed him.
Saw no reason during the Olympics to believe that Pau can't still be an effective player with his back to the basket.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a5x42p5 And Cavs sends their '13 or '14 1st round pick to Rockets. I dont know if they have another teams future pick, if they have i'm okay with it either. Pretty fair imo.
Well, Coach Pringles wasn't gonna insult Kobe nor DH nor Nash. Since the players don't fit he decided to throw Gasol to the bench. Countdown to Gasol trade, because the Lakers need depth and they've really screwed themselves chemistry-wise. Jeez, Kobe gives one horrific staredown on Mike Brown and they go to Pringles who's done no better.

I'm sure that would be interesting... I think Sergio is somewhat sour on the NBA because guys like Rudy Fernandez and others tell him it's not what it's cracked up to be, you don't get much opportunity, etc. Not sure how that would help too much if Pau (and that $19+M salary) is coming to Houston. 2013 cap room would be gone unless you traded Lin and Asik both, and others.
