Happy 50th Birthday to the greatest player to ever don the Houston Rockets jersey, Hakeem The Dream Olajuwon.

Here's to 50 more years of wisdom, finesse, hard work, and most of all, disciplined knowledge.

 I am humbled to have seen you play.

    Serious question for the old-timers:

Who was greater? Moses Malone at his MVP peak as a Rocket, or Hakeem at his peak as a Rocket?

Dream. I'll reiterate that "finesse" was Dream's staple, while Malone was just strength and hard work. I saw only a few games of Malone, and he wasn't at his apogee, so I might be speaking from only experience.

Hakeem. His defense and passing were the difference.

The Fanzz store is having sale. They have a stack of Olajuwon 34 retro worn look t-shirts.
The throwback Rockets logo on the front.
    Olajuwon 34 on the back.

Happy Birthday Dream!! My favorite game seeing Dream Live was the game against Portland where he had 40 plust pts and Vernon Maxwell comes in during half time because he arrested for brandishing a gun at someone earlier that afternoon.

There was a Hakeem festival on NBATV last night if anybody was watching - a Hakeem special and 3 playoff games - (87 vs. Seattle double OT game, 93 v. LAC game 5, 94 NYK game 7)

In Fonde and in Moody, Dream had nightmares playing against Moses, and Dream had to learn how to get around Moses when Moses was starting to lose his speed and strength. There was no match for that fadeaway and the counter-counter-dream-shake move. I had the pleasure of seeing them play at Moody a couple times. Many other superstars were there, too.

Great question. Moses Malone is the single most underrated center of all time IMO even with the 3 MVPs. When both he and Kareem were in their primes Moses was better, more ferocious and won their head to head match ups. Moses was a beast and the absolute best center in the game during his prime years. Moses is easily a top 10 center and arguably a top 5 center of all time. I will always think Moses was better than Kareem because I watched him outplay Kareem. Moses is an alpha male while Kareem was not.

Moses is probably one of the biggest reasons (outside of Guy Lewis) that Hakeem developed the way he did. Having said that, Hakeem was better IMO.

    Happy Birthday Dream!

I agree that Moses Malone was much better than Kareem Jackson.
