It's interesting. A lot of my knowledgable Lakers fans blame D'Antoni and believe that Pau isn't washed up. Most of the casual fans just go LOL PAU IS HORRIBLE.
I wonder if we could figure out a 3 teamer to get Pau. Would completely change the dynamic of our team if we had a big man who could post and pass and catch the ball. Puts us into Denver/Golden State level at worst IMO.
He's been hurt a lot. He's on the downhill slide... Still, if he'd come for cheap, and as willing tutor to Moti and TJ... Naw. I still wouldn't do it. Next tease, please: Javale Mcgee?
two issues with this, 1. This will kill whatever trade value gaysol had in the first place. 2. This will destroy whatever motivation he had left and crush whatever toughness he had, this will in turn effect #1 even more lol.
Pau would be great here...willing to trade PPat only though plus the Lakers have to eat this years contract...
Gasol will be the answer to our "soft" PFs. He will bring a lot of toughness to the team. He is a high motor, extremely aggressive, scoring machine with range well beyond the three point line. Lets not forget who won the 2006 slam dunk contest..
The "permanent" effect of this decree could be Pau playing like a sissy 100% of the time instead of just 50%. I'm not saying Pau can produce 20 ppg consistently, but there is a reason his scoring and FG% have plummeted this year. It's because the Lakers' coaches have no clue how to use him. With a more gifted offensive C like Bynum being replaced by Howard, Pau should be scoring about the same, maybe more. Instead, D'Antoni has done nothing to help him find a comfort zone. Isn't that what a coach is supposed to do? Unless he has a mental resolve hidden from the rest of mankind, Pau will dip to single-digit scoring and became even more worthless trade bait. Maybe they could make him the feature player of the 2nd unit. Even that wouldn't work if Howard logs nearly 40 mins/game and Pau is warming the bench in crunch time. I guess he could hope Dwight gets in foul trouble. D'Antoni is a pathetic coach. He has no control over what's going on. At least Mike Brown made them do it his way and he got 19/12 and 17/10 from his big guys.
There are too many people playing in the post in LALA land...and no one doing so here...so in effect Pau would be a solid addition to this team...atleast until a KLove trade can work out by next year?!?

Pau was doing well during the Olympics...and plus he was a significant problem for team USA during the Olympics..and for him to be worthless all of a sudden is a real question...Is he being used correctly, or is he over the hilll There is no question that Pau is no longer the same efficient player...but i do believe that for a team that needs a Low post scoring presence...Pau would be a solid addition to this team.. he needs a change of scenery
