A procedural question. Has it always been that the VP is sworn in before the President? In the case of the 2009 inauguration there was about a half hour between the swearing in of the VP and the President so in that 1/2 hour did we have divided government?

No, unlike those that have to make up a new moniker every time they get banned from here, I believe what I write and know it to be the truth

 

Obama has created more jobs in 4 years than Bush did in 8. Also, private sector job levels are now back at what they were before the Bush crash.

But enough of that, This is a day of celebration for all Americans! It's too bad you can't seem to let your hate take a day off.

Sure I can. It's because the the government has drastically slashed public sector jobs.

As ThinkProgress has noted time and again, the unemployment rate would be up to a percentage point lower if all levels of government hadn’t engaged in severe austerity, shedding hundreds of thousands of jobs. The last three years have been the worst for public employment on record.

But really, you are an American right? You should relax and enjoy this most auspicious day!
