What difference does it make if apparently nobody is beating the "contender" Ravens... the juggernaut Flacco... the beastly Ray Lewis! The Patriots dominate every other team in this playoffs... except the Ravens. They just don't matchup well.
I know... the Ravens looked as bad as any of the playoff teams. People were picking the Colts to beat them... and they had just lost to the Bengals the week before, where people were saying that had the Ravens played their starters it would have been even less close. They got hot at the right time... the Texans got cold at the wrong time. Doesn't mean that the Ravens are the model franchise and the Texans are the butt of all jokes... just means that if you play your best football THIS time of the year, you have just as good a shot as anybody.
For some reason, I thought we (Houston) had a physical defense. Did we lose that with Cushing? Pollard?
I meant in the conference. They also lost to the Ravens in the regular season as well... and they have NEVER lost twice to the same team in a season in the Belicheck era. Give Belicheck two weeks to game plan against the rookie QB's, and they'd probably be just fine. He just can't figure out how to consistently beat the Ravens.
finally, someone who understands. no one was putting money on the ravens. and again, the regular season doesn't mean jack.
which injury will Brady report with to not show up to the probowl? I say shoulder sprain, anybody want to take a 1,000,000 bet?
Things we need to consider from Ravens fans (I used to work up there): - they claim that during the playoffs is the 1st time they've been healthy - their only must win was 2nd to last week when they beat down the Giants - they rested the last week I am optimistic about the Texans too, but they must take steps to improve, not lose critical FAs like last year. Can Schaub work on his explosiveness? Like can he do some leg squats or something, because he seriously needs to improve there. We don't need Kaepernick, but Schaub has to get better than a 0 rating there. And I did put money on the Ravens to beat the Broncos. Not in Vegas now or I would have done it again. See gambling thread.
My point was that the Patriots have been without him now for 7 weeks.... and they hadn't seemed to miss him all that much in any of the previous 7 games.
Those are probably the most optimistic of Ravens fans ever. Tell me what they were saying when they got blown out at home by Denver, and lost to the Redskins? Also, the Giants were NOT a playoff team this year, so I don't see how that win propelled them to anything. I do buy that they got healthier... but Suggs/Lewis are no longer the difference makers they once were.
