Remind me when the Islamist Jihadist party wins multiple seats in the UK, forms a coalition government with the---Lib Dems? Then they proceed to brainwash Nick Clegg (that poor b*stard does seem to align with a bunch of unsavory characters, present government being the example), and then, they well, suspend democracy.

Comparatively speaking, groups like the Front National and Golden Dawn are MUCH further along, if you want to worry about the creeping Nazi movement.

You know, the guy who made it to the second runoff in the French presidential elections of 2002? And is now the honorary member of a Front National that garnered 18% of the popular vote.

The Nazis started with 2.6% of the popular vote. The jihadists to my knowledge are at 0% or close to it.

If one wants to make fear and create wildly disproportionate comparisons to Nazi Germany (which is pretty much when you lose every debate, but regardless), then perhaps their ideological descendants merit a lot more worry than the unorganized and ridiculous jihadists.

 

Not sure what there is to debate is here. Yep, extremists are bad, and here's an example of it. Unless you propose some magical measure to ban extremism, the best we can do is recognize and vocalize that they are bad. Not sure why we have to categorize which ones are worse, and get heated over it.

If you think a fundamentalist Sharia law platform party of Muslims has a chance of winning power in Western Europe, you've lost touch with reality.

 

Whoever is in control in Egypt has implications in the United States as well, but those implications have zero to do with their ability to take control either in the United States or Great Britain.

If you're comparing the govts. now in Western Europe with the horrible dictator who was in control of Egypt, then you've lost touch with reality.

 

I never realized any of those countries were in Western Europe.

 

Europeans are soft, especially Western Europe... Try doing that in the American South and see what happens.

Saudi Arabia - 'Royal Family' is in power because Britain did not want a single large Arab country. Read about the British support of the Hashemites and the Saud families after World War I.

You'll praise Western democracy but you won't denounce their foreign imperialism, which makes you a completely out of touch with reality.
