IF the Rockets make a deal like this for ZBo goes to show that letting Scola walk for nothing was a mistake after all. The reason was to go young at the PF position by most on the bbs and look what that has done, going by to an older PF.

Is that enough time for us to make a title run with him?

Read the OP and had a brain freeze. I was thinking of Al Jefferson!

Sorry, but Scola is no ZBo in the paint. ZBo is a 20,10 guy easy. Scola is crafty, but he is not a physical presence in the paint. I would like him on our team.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't have that much of a problem with Randolph but the problem comes into the fact that the team's philosophies on how they play their PFs in the offense runs counter to what Randolph offers. Also I wonder what exactly we'd have to offer for Randolph if it came down to a trade.

he is more effective than gasol and his game is based off Bball IQ instead of athletic ability. Him and kevin love have that dennis rodman rebounding gene. only problem is Mchale will need to develop some halofcourt offensive plays for once. Zbo will kill opponents in the post which also means our shooters need to be more consistent also

The reason was to go a different direction from Scola.

Who wouldn't swing for Duncan if he was made available for us? And nobody would be saying "but he's old"

Zbo isn't Duncan, but if we can somehow get him it'd be fantastic.

I'd suggest the whole thing is just a smokescreen though. The Grizz are just trying to get a better offer on the table for Gay. I'd guess they've been underwhelmed by their trade prospects on that front...

Knee-jerk trade? Is Morey still the GM?

I've haven't gone through this thread yet and maybe this is what I want to believe, but this screams smokescreen to me.

Morey is good friends with Chris Wallace and I doubt either side would leak this if they wouldn't want to get it out.
The Grizzlies probably are having trouble finding finding good value for Gay or Randolph and Rockets may be looking to trade for another PF and need leverage in trade talks.

So... you leak false interest. Win-win situation.

EDIT: That is, of course if you believe Alex Kennendy in the first place. :)

It would be great to have a POWER forward in ClutchnCity again. As long as his back holds up, Z- Bo would bring a mean inside presence and elite rebounding ability that we haven't had in Houston since Charles Barkley rolled in on his wheelchair. With that said, I am still on Team J-Smooth if Morey can pull it off.

I'd be ecstatic if we get him - but we'd have to give up a lot for him. Probably Parsons, maybe Asik (they don't really need a center), some PFs and picks(if we can get them some).

Now would I give up Parsons for him? I don't know. ZBo is definetly better, but also older and with a hefty contract. I really have a lot of trust in Parsons, and as Bill said he is kinda the face of our franchise. I truly believe he can be an all star someday and a perfect 3d piece in a championship team.

But if we can get Randolph without giving up Harden or Parsons, I would probably say hell yes!

this team needs a veteran in the worst way. the pospect of having two elite level LEFT handed players on the court at the same time is vey intriguing. PLUS the 3 years isnt that big a deal since he'll probably live up to the contract at least one full year, which will then turn into a huge expiring. the buisness history these two teams have cant entirely be overlooked. whatever happens at least the rockets appear to be buyers and hopefully it happens sooner rather than later because this team is slipping.

If true, then goodbye Jeremy Lin. Lin would be a horrible fit alongside Randolph.

lol, why would we trade Lin? We signed him because we wanted to let him know that we were wrong to release him. It would be funny.
