The Rockets have handled this situation about as well as possible. Royce White is never going to be an NBA player. Concentrate on the upcoming trade deadline and guys like Jones and Montejunas that can help the Rockets.
It is a 5 page letter, I doubt we have seen all there is to see at this point. What this does do is show that the Rockets have been in the right all along and it is Royce who is at fault and then he had the gall to call out Clutch and Bullard for discussing the truth. Clutch's post shows the timeline between the letter exposed by Royce White and the back and forth between White and Clutch and Bullard.
Royce White is such an ungrateful d bag.. they literally did everything they could do for this guy, and he screws them by being a child. brb getting paid to sit my ass on twitter and #bewell all day
The letter is from his upcoming interview. They showed a screenshot of it, but not the whole thing, so thats how the media got it. They have seen the interview or part of it. Nothing there can hurt the team, so I doubt Morey will react to it. In fact, it almost reads like he wrote it carefully in case it was leaked.
LOL. OK, I just rated it a 5 to compensate the mean rating by others This thread actually provides some info and is far more better than other multiple knee-jerk threads after tonight ugly game.
I have the utmost faith that the Rockets are treating Royce consistently and fairly. I don't believe Royce to be a scam artist, but I believe him to have more mental problems than just anxiety. At this point, he looks to be a waste of a draft pick and someone who will never play in the NBA. That's about as complimentary of him as I can be. Releasing these letters does nothing but reinforce these feelings for me.
Wow. I like how Royce wrote THIS back to the Rockets Very lol-worthy. Royce has decided that he'll ammend the medical category of his contract AFTER he has signed it - and this is the 'protocol' the Rockets are refusing him. No small wonder. Good bye Royce - hopefully very very soon!!!
Can the NBA ban him? I'm sure Rockets will release him if they know he will not play for any other team. This has just been a bizarre season
I would blame this fiasco on McHale even. Didn't White's Grantland documentary on draft day indicate that only McHale was pushing to draft White and that "the whole room was against him"?
c'mon, Morey, show your balls and cut this guy he's patronizing you because he knows you won't cut him
Man, I don't know how you could piss off a guy like Morey, if you were a dedicated bball player that he drafted. Maybe you could stop getting his attention...but, pissing him off? I've been trying to stay distant in my mind from this, but not anymore. Bye Bye Royce
NBATV played part of HBO's interview with Royce White earlier. Royce said he wants a medical point person "that will remain neutral" making decisions. The interviewer mentioned he was a basketball player, and Royce corrected him to say he was a human being. He then asked Royce if he was willing to accept being a human being without a job in the NBA, and he responded: "Yes, but I'm not going to accept it without a fight." Royce's #1 goal is to be an advocate for mental health awareness. We knew this beforehand, but it's been apparent now that this looks like really his only goal. Maybe he still wants to be an NBA player, but I don't see it... I think he's found his cause and he likely wants to go some legal route here to push for change for his Troopers. I certainly don't know for sure, but it looks like his basketball upside is a carrot that you can see, smell and taste, but you'll never, ever get to it.
