Manning returning those kicks well might be a curse in disguise. I thought Marciano was a goner for sure..but McNair is stubbornly "loyal". Ugh.
Well I think Manning can do that on any special teams coverage, but we cant use Manning during the season. (too risky) The punt renturns still sucked against the Pats.. And the coverage for the special teams sucked as well. He better be gone
McNair needs to watch the Moses parting of the sea in the Colts game that probably cost us home-field, over and over.
"We just gotta fix it. I mean, Joe wasn't the one out there covering. That's on the players. We just gotta fix it, do a better job and we'll be fine. Joe is doing and has done fabulous job for us." - Bob
One good day does not make up for a horrible, horrible season. We had the worst ST unit by a WIDE MARGIN in 2012. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamst
Somehow the organization has gotten the message out to talk radio guys that the Texans usually rank at the top of the league in special teams. Check the real stats guys. The Texans special team unit has generally been average or worse.
Radio guys, especially the 610 afternoon guys at times have been pissing me off. Seems as if they're scared to piss off the Texans too much because they'll yank their exclusive interviews/coverage so they'll sidestep a lot of the criticism directed toward the Texans from callers.
Not like we were legends when we were inside the opposing 20... We should probably look into that, too...
Red sea's too slow, this was like the automatic doors at a Walmart. Karim hit open field by the 30 yard line.
I can't either. I keep waiting for the announcement and it keeps not coming. It's been a week. What's the point in waiting?
It ain't happening. At least not until mid-season next season. Kubes and Bob will give Joe the benefit of the doubt because he's been here longer than Kubiak. It will take another bad 2-3 games before Bob is "forced" to move in. As long as the Texans keep winning despite it he will be here Battlefighting!
As far as I know, Kubiak and McNair have already had their annual post-season meeting where they sit down and evaluate the season. The longer it goes without Marciano being fired, the less likely it is to happen. I know the Chiefs, Colts, and Lions have hired new special teams coaches. So people are hiring those types of coaches already. You can't wait too long or a guy you want may be off the table.
Please please please tell me this is a joke. How can we not fire him? We just saw what Jacoby and Holliday did for other team!
There's still time, but it's a remote possibility. Frank Bush cost us multiple wins, and Kubiak still wanted to stick with him. Marciano probably gets to hide under the blanket of 12 wins and a promise to battlefight a little more in '13. Accountability: the Texans could use some more of it.
