How about using DMo to back up Asik and Greg Smith as the PF?

I think we have enough players shooting from the perimeter but not enough low post power. Unless what McHale wants is the one-in-4-out offense like the knicks'.

Guys, if you dont understand and realize that Morey's stashing his more coveted players because of the upcoming trade deadline, the more at ease you all will be.

Relax, Morey isnt dumb his eyes tells him that Morris and Pat are hot garbage, its all about the trade value of these 2. Dmo and TJones will get their action after the deadline.

Hang in there one more month.

D-Mo is a pf, he looks too fragile to bang low and cover the paint
D-Mo and T.Jones should get looks at Pf, is not like ppat/Morris are doing anything special with their minutes

I don't understand why McHale is not giving a chance to TJones and D-Mo yet. I'm agree to keep PPat as a starter, but Morris is a complete joke ESPN:

Donatas Motiejunas 15.23 PER (38 minutes in total, 22 points with 50% FG, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals)
Terrence Jones 15.01 PER (11 minutes in total, 34 points with 38.2% FG, 18 (!) rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocks and 3 steals)
    Patrick Patterson 14.73 PER
    Marcus Morris 12.12 PER

On offense, it is obvious that their role is to stretch the floor, which I have no objection, given the strength of our back court. But they should have mixed in more of the interior passing game. Our guards are fully capable of the little dump off pass under the basket after drawing the big defenders at the rim.

Morris has lost his shooting confidence after Patterson came back from injury. Patterson has been shooting quite consistently until the past two games or so. Anyway, their offense is not my concern if they are given more opportunities in the paint.

On the defensive end, it's bad. There's no other words to describe it. And the rebounding is worse than horrible.

When you pick 14, 18, or 20, you draft guys with weaknesses. Half of them don't even make it.

Of course you're correct. But it's so painful to watch PPatt/Morris...

putting patterson back into the starting lineup 3 games ago was a mistake.....

i disagree with the statement that d-mo is soft, he is lightweight for his size, but that doesn't mean that he will not take it to the basket.

morris i classify as a timid player which is very frustrating and i don't know why the coaches don't address it to him. unfortunately, i think the blame is the whole strategy of layups or shooting 3s. morris has the size and strength to overpower the defender, and get easy shots using a spin move or backing down, etc. however whenever he gets an iso it is just a crossover and jumpshot. that is bailing out the defender. he is just missing the aggressiveness to play his game which i think is more of a physical game, but he is trying to be a finesse player.

Thank you. Jones might not be the best at all of the things you said but he is good at all them and if ever givin another real coach he will be a great shot blocker that is not scared of contact.

So you're saying not to get a better PF, because it would change our offense? Our offense is overrated anyways IMO. A run n gun team is a gimmick, it never goes far in the playoffs, it's just a way to win regular season games.. which btw we aren't even doing right now. If we can get a legit PF we wouldn't have a problem changing our offense

That's one of the reason why opponents have an extra defender guarding Harden because our PF is not a threat even though they're wide open. Morris and Patterson settles for jump shots and never attack the basket. Plus on top of that, they both can't even hit a basket even though they're wide open. It got to a point where both of them quickly get rid of the ball as soon as the ball is pass to them even though they're wide open.

Sadly those two are our best perimeter shooters. It's unfair to compare D-Mo to who is perhaps the best shooting 7 footer in history. D-Mo and T-Jones would probably shoot 30-32% from three, if they were better than that they would have entered the rotation replacing one of the softies.

the only PF i see that shoots 3's at a good pace is dirk. Bigs need to play like bigs. Morris isnt a PF he is just a slow SF and patterson plays like he wants to be a small foward. He wont even roll to basket instead he will step behind the 3pt line when he shoots higher % from midrange
