With the new CBA no team can waste money on an elite player @ a position where an average or above average player would do fine. PG is not a major weakness on our team.

We dont have two top 30 players like Garnett($12m) and Pierce($17m). If you throw Lin on the Celtics those two guys probably wouldn't notice a difference except Lin wouldn't be as moody as Rondo. It's not Rondo that makes Boston's half court game work it's the scoring skills of Garnett and Pierce.

Rondo wont make Asik's hands better or make 2patt, Morris or Parsons more consistent scorers.

Morey has talked about being patient with this team because they're so young. He's not going to blow it up less than half way through the season. Asik, Lin and Parsons aren't going anywhere the next two seasons. After that all bets are off, but until then there wont be big changes.

I would go all out for Jennings. Jennings and Harden combo would be pretty killer as long as we don't have to trade Parsons, but that could be tough. I wouldn't mind Bledsoe either.

I hope Morey keep this team intact. Yeah they're losing badly right now, this team is young, inexperienced and all that but they have talent, they all get along with one another, and they've only played half a season together. Chemistry is an underrated factor, and I think the more this team plays together the better they will be in the future.

well apparently I cant start new threads, even though I've created one in the past lol. But anyways there is a new espn insider article saying he's pretty sure Josh Smith to Houston was a pretty good likelihood.

    http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/nba/rumors/post?id=474&h=aAQFuljiH
Neither Josh Smith nor the Atlanta Hawks have handled things well during what has generally been assumed would be his final year with the team. J-Smoove is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, which led most pundits to assume the Hawks would turn him loose to increase his pre-trade-deadline value and that he would go all out to pile up big numbers to increase the value of his next contract.
Neither of those things has happened, though. Instead, the Hawks and Smith have clashed, which led to his suspension for Wednesday's game. In the short term, he'll be back in action Friday in their rematch with the Brooklyn Nets, but in the long term, he remains trade fodder.
ESPN NBA Insider Kevin Pelton examined a number of potential trade scenarios that include teams like the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors, but he settled on one team he sees as Smith's final destination, proposing a trade that would net the Hawks Cole Aldrich, Carlos Delfino, Marcus Morris and picks:
    Kevin Pelton
Where can Hawks ship Josh Smith?
"Put my money on Houston as Smith's eventual destination. The Rockets could save Atlanta money by using their $6.7 million in cap space to take on more salary than they send back, and they have plenty of intriguing young pieces. For cap purposes, the Hawks would probably have to choose between Morris and Patrick Patterson as a Smith replacement, with the possibility of adding in draft picks. From Houston's perspective, Smith would be a good fit for a team that is missing only an athletic power forward in its starting lineup of the future. The Rockets can offer him a chance to play with a talented frontcourt and potentially contend in the Western Conference as their young talent develops. This just makes too much sense for both sides."

Can we throw in anyone else other than Delfino? The guy has been playing like a monster and is an extremely team friendly contract. Outside of him we have no other reliable 3 point shooter. Well, other than our #1 option that is.

I feel you - but Delfino was also acquired with very little money in the free agent market. He is the kind of player Morey seems to always acquire.

I don't even like Josh Smith and when I saw that proposal I thought 'Okay, that might tempt me.'

Utah would have no part of that trade.

Although he's a better scorer than Lin, I just don't see him meshing with Harden. They both need the ball in their hands. Isn't it the same problem they're having at Milwaukee with Jennings and Monta having a hard time coexisting?
