Getting tired of McPhail. He does need to rein in Harden so he plays some D. And even if Harden takes under 20 shots a game too much of our offense runs through Harden. Why not force some more effort from Harden on D and play him less minutes?

We need to be less one dimensional since teams have pretty much figured out that if you clog the paint and double Harden the Rockets are finished. Asik clogs the paint when he is in the game and it impairs Lin/Harden from attacking the paint. PPat/Morris are not stretch fours so their guy will also collapse the paint. Harden deserves some blame here, but lets face it. The Rockets are a one dimensional team and there is not much else the Rockets can do with that line up than iso Harden and hope your team is hot shooting 3's.

So teams have adjusted to the Rockets. What has McPhail done to counter? The truth is the Rockets have a lot of good weapons on their roster. If the coach were not so stubborn we could change things up a little instead of hoping the team we play won't be able to match us up good.

The only adjustment I see from McPhail is to sit Asik and go small when we are already out of the game. Good Luck with that!

Last time I checked basketball is a TEAM game. Nobody on our team is playing good defense right now, there's no point singling Harden out.

I don't think harden being the primary playmaker is a recipe for success. It results in him forcing things a bit too much and having to constantly make tough shots.

Yes. Harden needs to get more easy baskets to conserve his energy to play more D.

Under the current system, we don't need PGs because we just stand there pass around and shoot; we don't need 3p specialists because every player shoots 3's; we don't use PFs because we don't take in-between shots; we don't play rookies until they fully adapt to the robotic role of the system.

it doesn't matter what system you play, you need a good/smart pg
the idea of not playing rookies is idiotic (no offense)

Fire McHale and hire Del Negro because he's doing wonders with the Clips.

Clippers has all the alleyoopers in the world and Rockets has none so Del Negro will fail badly

Gentrys still fresh, I think Brian Shaw is available too... anything but Mcfail, I remember him coaching in Minnesota, I was really young and noticed how terrible he was back then just to see him convert his mess over here. When my cousin told me and my bro Mchale was hired as our new coach we both laughed and looked at each other like o chiiii please wake me up from this nightmare....lol 4real 4real

wheres Rudy T now and days? Guy had that IT FactOR, CLUTCH CITY BAbY! Didn't cast out players or run them off, if something wasn't right he adjusted. Mchale has his system and gives players the my way or highway treatment to seasoned Veterans like kmart, kyle lowry, and Courtney lee to the rookies Royce, Tjones, and Dmo, guy doesn't have a clue. Our players of the past loved Rudy T including Us. Cant say the same for Mchale. Rudy T use to get wasted before games, probably during too....lol but hey we loved him cause he got the job done!

those image screens with the POINT guard standing for the spot up 3 are maddening. no PURE POINT is going to excel in that kind of system, the pocket square offense. He always talks about the ball being too sticky. well, don't let one guy stick to the ball and act like benching another player is going to solve that.

    Democratic ball for the win!

Thanks. Should it be "the Rockets square offense"?

McHale might not be a great coach, he coached 201 NBA games but only won 94 of them, that is a 46.8% winning rate. Doesn't look impressive to me.

But maybe he is the best the Rockets can get at the moment, I don't know.

Exactly. From what I could see, Parsons was suppose to be guarding Paul George and he was wide open so many times it was ridiculous.
