I'm not sure if you were trying to be clever there. Didnt work. The Rockets have been mediocre for 20 years, because they did the exact opposite of what you are mocking.
Failing to meet expectations with two legitimate superstars on your team due to injuries and a weak supporting cast is not the definition of mediocre.
Whoever started this thread must be a genius. If you compare Rockets' performance last season to what they have been doing this season, you find the same pattern. Moreover, if you read the commentaries from last season and compare them to this season, you will be shocked, different players, same offensive system, same results.
Depends on how you define mediocre. Only 5 teams won more regular season games than the Rockets in those years (SAS, DAL, DET, PHO, LAL). But we were never better than "pretty good", which meant little playoff success.
That actually sounds like THE definition of mediocre. Call it whatever you want to make yourself feel better. They have not wont their division since '94, havent won a title since 95. Havent been out of the 2nd round of playoffs since 94...what more do you need? They have been MEDIOCRE. Just good enough to make to playoffs, just bad enough to stop at the first round.

I saw this too, but actually thought we would win either the dallas game or tonight. oh well. Weakness at the 4 is just too glaring. Asik is good on D and grabbing boards but the lack of his offensive game further adds to that. I'm surprised the rockets have been doing this good uptill now.
THAT is my point. Regular season decent, then playoffs...nothing. Aside from the 2nd round vs the Lakers a few years ago, what else has there been since the titles? Like is said, good enough to get your hopes up, then break your heart in the end.
That too! I want a complete overhaul of them. I understand why people want the ketchup and mustard back (because it reminds them of our glory days), but Im a uniform guy lol, I want something completely new, away from the trash they wear now.
