This game was a loss do to the loss of "power" in the forward position. How can 3 players playing for a total of 52 minutes only score a meager 3 points and only 6 rebounds? Rockets need to do something with this position soon...I feel Douglas is poing to be shipped out as a package before next month's deadline.

Yes, opponents have been using that same strategy since the Jan 9 game in New Orleans. It's time for coaching staff to come up with a counter move.

    Pretty much.

They can kick out to Patterson an dMorris but what are they going to do?

If you kick out to Parsons you can live with him shooting threes...he MAY drive but then he's driving into the same crap that Lin and Harden just drove into.

There really is nothing else in the Rockets playbook.

Set a pick with Asik but he's not a threat to do much upon catching the ball..if he does catch it. Whatever, teams will live with Asik scoring.

It actually makes more sense to PNR with Morris or 2pat but they will just stand around the perimeter.

    It's ugly.

thats cuz the scouting report for this one dimensional offense is out.

-pack the paint and "allow" 3s
    -frontcourt get the rebound
    -backcourt get back on d

this takes away our dribble penetration, forces us to shoot high % from 3, and takes away our transition baskets.

the answer of course is a solid half court game. we need easy baskets by posting and solid mid range shooting. not to blow teams out, but just enough to score and keep the game close. then when we get the chance we can run n gun and then blow them out. instead we chuck 3s and force drives into traffic why? because we're desperate and are just winging it out there... hoping the ball goes in...

Our power forwards are the reason why Harden and Lin are slowly wearing down. You can't even run pick and rolls with these tweeners.

    SIGH..

Mam...Lin is really something tonight..what's up with the 7 shots? DMo in the game for less than a minute and shoots one. No when your teammates are hot or not and do you thing!

also tell him not to let Harden play as a point guard, he can pass (we know that), but he can't set a good play. Rox offense is stagnant when he is doing the PG duties..

Lin needs to learn how to pull up off the dribble.

I disagree. I think with the fast paced game forces the other team off balance. Besides, it's not that they were making a lot of 3s. A lot of their points came from the paint, just throwing their opponents off guard. Think of the game, I forgot which game, but it was such a great play, you can't forget, the game where Lin stole the ball ran to the corner 3, passed it to Delfino, Delfino fakes the shot, then finds G. Smith for an easy dunk. Those types of plays I am talking about. I personally like run and gun, and I think we were better than the Phoenix Suns run and gun offense, but right now, it seems Mchale has completely avoided this strategy altogether. At least run that same offense and watch it become less effective over time so we can see that it doesn't work. So for example, if we don't win by 30 points, maybe we win by 20 points next game. And if our offense becomes less effective, then we win by 10 points etc. Right now, Mchale doesn't even want to try the great offense we ran so effectively.Sux.

    That's encouraging.

Good lord, sometimes I have NO idea what's going through McHale's head. How terrible must D-Mo and TJones be in practice if they're STILL not getting time after such horrific performances by Morris and Patterson...

    Last 5 games...

    Patrick Patterson - 19.2 mpg, 5.0 points, 31.3% FG, 33.3% 3pt, 2.6 REB
    Marcus Morris - 18.2 mpg, 5.6 points, 31.3% FG, 26.3% 3pt, 3.4 REB

That's not just bad, those are horrible numbers. :(

That's why I think a pf like Josh Smith would solve a lot of the Rockets problems. He can finish strong ( which helps Asik + guards) defend, rebound, and block shots. Either that or give Dmo some burn and see if he can contribute.

No, he needs his effing rest. Mchale needs to get off his jock. Abusing Harden tonight is only gonna make it worse for him tomorrow night. You can almost smell that loss coming in for tomorrow, all thnx to McFail:rolleyes:

How does our freaking starting PG take just 7 shots and score 10 pts (1 FG and 3 pts the entire second half)? Awful. Jeremy, your team has lost 5 games in a row, have some ducking urgency.
