Newspaper: “Lennay” Called Manti Te’o In December And Said She’d Faked Her Death To Elude Drug Dealers Just keeps getting better
oops, that was supposed to be a correction to my previous post. Now I'm just spamming ^^^ He's the type of liar that compounds lies to make up for other lies. IMHO he is and always will be a piece of ****.
I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt. Every day something different crops up in this story. I'm not going to charge him with a thought crime until I find it reasonable to do so. I don't disagree with that. But I think you need to include Te'o in the group of people "largely affected". 1) Sorry, as of now, I largely disagree. But I reserve the right to change my mind as more information comes to light. 2) Still trying to cover it up? What do you mean? This statement assumes guilt, by the way. This is absolutely not true. It is extremely common and easy for a school to cut-ties with an athlete and/or throw them under the bus. Especially after they've used up all their eligibility and can no longer help on the football field. Monday morning quarterbacking at it's finest... Well, I guess that solves the riddle of why you're assuming the worst.
Why does that even matter? Are we suppose to excuse his actions all because he did not want to get embarrassed? I don't feel sorry for him, Manti is a grown man. He still talked about her to the media after he found out. If the worst he has it is "getting shredded" by people, then I say he deserves it. Its hilarious because if your theory holds true, he's going to get it worst now than if came out truthfully. I say let it rain. Got to deal with the consequences of your mistakes. He'll get drafted, and this will be all over for him once he makes his first tackle in the NFL....or after making those millions.
You're entitled to your own opinion and beliefs about right and wrong, justice and punishment, etc... but to act as if you know all the facts, know what it is like to be in this guy's shoes, or to presume you would always do the ideal thing under such circumstances, is just silly. If my 'theory' (?) holds true? What does my 'theory' have to do with the consequences now vs. then? Of course he is going to be worse off now than if he had come out from the start with what he knew. I said that from the get-go. I am not disagreeing with that. What I disagree with is people making this out to be much more than it was (i.e. he made it up from the start on his own to get Heisman votes). He f***ed up, but I don't think he's some psychopathic mastermind as much as I think he is a dumb kid that only recently made some bad decisions, largely not trying to hurt anybody or win himself acclaim, but instead save himself from public humiliation. Of course, if this distinction is irrelevant to you, then we have nothing to discuss.
did anybody post this? The girl is identified. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf...e-girlfriend-turn-woman-211606639--ncaaf.html
It was in several of the articles posted (and the photo was in the article linked to from the first post), but it's hard to keep track with this crazy story...
Te'o kept tragic story going Meanwhile, Te'o did(is doing) an off-camera interview with ESPN.

A photo of @jeremyschaap & Manti Te'o w/attorney during interview.
