Says the guy who keeps bringing the site up. No need to justify your obsession by telling everyone how many times you've been there (though it's probably been more). It's okay my ignored little buddy. Carry on you knowledgeable, veteran poster.

We put the ball almost exclusively in Harden's hands near the beginning of the season, especially while under Sampson. That experiment failed hard. Harden is a scorer and plays his best when he gets to be selective on his possessions.

If Harden could facilitate the offense for 3 quarters and then go ham in the 4th like Chris Paul it'd be nice, but he's not a PG, at least not on that level yet, it's quite evident that he's best as a SG.

Lin is 12/6.5/4 which are pretty respectable numbers considering he's young, on a new team which is inexperienced, improving, coachable, is running an offense that is not complementary to his play-style and has a front-court of Asik and Morris/Patterson.

There aren't many PGs in the league that can get to the rim and finish or distribute off of a pick and roll/ high-screen like Lin, he's quite elite in that regard, and he's also very good at leading a fast-break. If he could improve his jump-shot he would be a great PG.

With all due respect, this statement is simply asinine. What are you... 11 years old?

I thought of writing my opinions as well. Then I remembered of many impatient fans here bashing Parsons after the first 2 games or so.

I think there are a lot of people here who don't know crap about basketball.

Rondo shoots 50% from the free throw line and has baseball mitts for hands.

Lin shoots close to 80% from the free throw line and shot over 30% from 3 last season.

    Hardly a good comparison.

A better comparison would be D-Rose. He shot below 30% from 3 his first 2 seasons (22% and 27%) and was not a good jump shooter in general.

I just read that site and, if I understood it correctly, I think they are arguing that Lin is better/equal than Harden. Great site right there

Maybe he keeps on bringing the site up to prove the obsession some people have for Lin. I understand he is a good player, but jeez some people take it way too far.

Lin is definetely here to stay... He might only be a C+/B- PG but with all the business he is drawing, there are many teams that would love to have him on their team. Rockets are so lucky... Many of you don't realise the impact of having Lin in terms of team income. Unbelievable.. Many players are more willing to come to Houston now because of the exposure in the market for endorsment and also, with more income, Rockets can afford to pay above luxury tax... Just be patient, it won't be long till we have legit players in other positions.

You are such a moron. They haven't even been able to get half a season in and you want to trade him? This is why u are a fan and they are in the front office.

Lin has grown on me a lot. He plays great team defense. His plus skill driving to the paint is elite. He is being forced to play what he is weak at (off guard) but he is getting better at it. And I am sure his shooting will improve. I believe in Lin but the truth is he has got to go. He just doesn't fit with Harden and especially Asik.

Team chemistry is THE most important thing we should focus on.

The Heat went through this as well with Wade and Lebron as both are very ball dominant, but there are a couple important points. Both are elite defenders who are ACTIVE. Wade and Lebron have so much talent that even if they were not the best match for each other, they made it work.

You cant just put guys on a team like it were a video game and expect things to work out like the Lakers did. See how bad Gasol looks when he is being used out of place?

Harden has holes in his game, so he needs guys that fit him perfectly or else the team will never advance. He needs a combo guard paired with him who can hit 3's and play defense. Tony Douglas actually is a perfect compliment to him.

There are teams that value Lin. They will play to his strengths instead of playing him to his weakness. Time to blow up the team!

Why does Mchale want to stop Lin ? Did someone read too many conspiracy novels?

On the other hand, it is my opinion that Mchale is not a very good on-court coach. I do think his off-court coaching is very good given the improvement these young players are exhibiting. Mchale is just in his 4 th season as a head coach. Everything will improve .

Just be patient. Lin and Mchale will show the OP that his is wrong.

At the risk of taking a silly thread seriously, I will actually make a serious response. Basically, I see almost no scenario in which the Rockets are better off trading Lin.

Let's look at what generally gets players traded.

    1. Player in a bad situation, pouts to get out: This is the situation Lin's FANS are in. But Lin will never do this. He's too classy to do something like this, even if the situation is true. And right now, I'm not sure it has reached that point.

    2. Part of a package for a star: The only realistic scenario. But keep in mind that Lin will be due a $15mil salary in 2 years, even if his cap number will be lower. Making him generally unappealing in a trade for the other side. Also, the Rockets are under the cap, and likely will not need to match salary.

    3. Playing awesome and moved at his peak trade value: Unrealistic, as if he's playing so well, the Rockets will simply keep him given their marketing tie-ins. And they don't exactly have a replacement begging to take his place. The only time this may not be true is in year 3 of his contract, at the deadline. But that's a long times away.

    4. Playing badly and needs to be moved before his trade value drops further, the Aaron Brooks scenario: Also unrealistic, since Lin's value can't be all that high right now. If he's moved, any chance of getting more than a 20ish 1st rounder and a crappy contract? Probably not. He's counting $8.3mil against the cap and makes even more due to the balloon payment. If Morey can get a star for him, he'd likely be gone already. But no one's paying anything for Lin right now, and Morey almost never sells low.

As a Rockets fan, I like Lin. I like his attitude, and I like his game. But I would not be pissed if a Lin trade comes along that makes the team better in the future. But given the circumstances, I don't see it. Like it or not, Lin and the Rockets are married for at least the next year or so. No chance anything happens before the next trade deadline.
