yup exactly Tinman's point I believe. Just think CHI. didn't want to get rid of Deng in their package before he resigned with LA, in a summer in which, he treated the Clippers, and Bulls to offer him something up.

Then came the Kobe that would just not take a shot to prove a point one season, and the trade rumors were pouring in. Most on the board at the time (was season right after the Mavs first Rd. loss the Rockets had) many didn't think Kobe had the right "MINDSET." WHOOPS!

    DEFINITELY more championship banners

a team consisting of Yao, T-Mac and Kobe?:eek::eek:

In all reality we wouldn't have gotten further then we went.

Kobe would b**** at Yao so much for not dunking or being aggressive or not playing the style of play Yao played and T-Mac was playing at Kobe levels.

I take the under-lined portion back, Michael Finley would have been called out of bounce in that series just because Kobe was on our team, we would have went on to win and to the next round

We would have beaten the Lakers and advanced past the 2nd round!

Instead of attempting to trade T-Mac for Kobe back when Bryant was unhappy and want to be traded, the Rockets reassured McGrady and the public that T-Mac was not going anywhere. Thanks Le$ and Maury!

What if Shaq were on the Rockets in the Tmac Days is a better question.

    No that's not a better question, that's a troll's question.

Yao was drafted as a Rocket and played on no other team.
He's going to get his number retired.

Pretty much no team will retire mcgrady's number.

Why did you post a thread in the GARM about a player who has never been a Rocket?

Yao Ming played for the Rockets.

#1 posted a Kobe thread here.

    #1 rules this place.

    I'm a 99er. We know the rules.

imho, no difference. Yao had 6 strong seasons in his career, of them he missed significant time in 3.

With all due respect to Yao, he's no Shaq, and absent Shaq the Lakers have had amazing overall rosters those seasons (Gasol, Bynum, Odom). Comparatively our rosters were weak throughout Yao's career...

LOL I can't believe so many polls are saying the Rox would have won anything.

You don't trot out Kobe and then say I win and start collecting rings  At the end of the day, when playoffs come you'll still have Yao Ming who is injured, Kobe and dudes like Rafer Alston and Juwon Howard.

    Luther Head
    Kobe
    Battier
    Juwon Howard/Hayes
    Deke/Hayes

    ^CHampionship

The only thing I could say though is, with Kobe being a much better player than Tmac we would have gotten a higher seed and not have to face off against the Mavs and Jazz in the first round. So, maybe multiple trips to the 2nd round? lol

If we did have this team, you'd have one season where the Rox could have gotten the first-2nd seed:

    Aaron Brooks/Lowry
    Kobe
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao Ming regular season/Deke playoffs

You know very well Clutch's thread was about McGrady and your thread is NOT about Yao.

... oh, my bad. Maybe your thread is about McGrady too, who WAS a Rocket.

Clutch didn't need to use a misleading title.

What if Jordan demanded to play with Hakeem in Houston in the early 90's, and what if Shawn Kemp & Gary Payton also forced their way to Houston to form H-Town Super Friends Team...

...and what if Dominique Wilkins also came to Houston!

We all know this is about your stupid thinking that Kobe would've accomplished more in the playoffs if we switched him and T-Mac. T-Mac has all-time great playoff numbers and didn't disappoint, his teammates did.

You also left out the most realistic poll option "Still no championships".

You making dumb threads and ridiculous poll options is a disgrace to all good 99ers.
