    damn that was harsh Kobe!!!

    But could well be true.

And to all those folks that think Lebron can take Kobe one on one..

No chance, Lebron has a limited skill set one on one. Both in their prime, Kobe takes it. (I am assuming Lebron is in his prime now, and doesn't get a better post game.)

Like Kobe said, and I agree outside of MJ, KD could perhaps beat him. Although young Kobe's man to man defense is pretty good, probably better then KD's defense.

Yeah, and even more than the age difference (which is significant) 20 yrs Kobe had been in the NBA for one season longer than TMac. That's such a huge difference. TMac beating Kobe one on one at that point in their careers would have been a huge upset. For whatever it's worth, consider how much better Parsons is than he was a year ago at this time, and Kobe's off season work ethic is famously amazing.

It's not terribly difficult to believe that Kobe could beat McGrady 1-on-1 (even though I'm completely convinced that a healthy, motivated McGrady will make a team better than Kobe), but when Kobe was 20, McGrady was 19, and was incredibly raw. Sure, one year isn't that big of a difference, but McGrady also just took a tiny bit longer to really develop at an NBA level.

That matchup would have been most interesting when Kobe was ~24-26 and McGrady was 23-25. After that point is when McGrady's body started giving out on him.

Heh, I see a handful of people have already pointed out what I said above.

Again, that's not to say I think McGrady could beat Kobe 1-on-1 even when they're both at their best (he might, though), but at that time, I don't think it was as interesting of a matchup.

... And on a related note, my god is Kobe an ass... Not that this is news to anyone.

TMac at his prime is just ridiculous... Don't think anyone could stop him.

You mean Orlando or early Houston?

Because he either had his team with the worst record in the league or losing in the 1st round of the playoffs.

you must not know the meaning of "couldn't stop"

If you can't be "stopped" then you'd win a championship.

all the tmac fans fail at reality.

I get the feeling that Kobe has zero respect for Tracy.

I think Kobe was a better player even during when they were comparable, but Kobe's logic is flawed. If tmac was 19 when they played...well we know he didn't beging to pick up till he was 23 or something. Also the fact he states "I'm the best to ever do it" is ****ing stupid when he's not sure if he could beat jordan.

Goes to show how little all his scoring matters this season.

If his analogy is valid, it would be like saying that if Harden played him one on one right now and owned him, Harden was the better 1 on 1 player.

    Tmac responds

Real_T_Mac: @MHeatfan631 LOL Hell no! That's far from the truth. No one in the NBA is playing 1 on 1. Me and KB never went to Germany together either..

Harden destroyed Kobe in the last game. Kobe just cat go with the more physical guards anymore. He is 34 and his body is ot what it was.

This reminds me of when Larry Bird said if you want to play and have fun playing, you want to play with Lebron. But if you want to win and win and win, you play with Kobe.

Replace Kobe with LBJ during the early 2000's and Shaq/Lebron win 5 rings. Lebron is a much better fit if you're talking about playing with other great players, just as much if not more of a "winner" than Kobe.

This isnt a story enough, but this can be proven or disproven with simple documented proof of events at the time. You gotta be bold at lying to say you and someone else were at the same location. (Or bold enough to deny not going on a PROMO TOUR out of COUNTRY if you actually did )

Kobe said "we played basketball every day. We were in the gym all the time." meaning it wasnt just some 1-time random thing.

McGrady wore Adidas in his Raptors days, officially signed with them while in Orlando. Kobe was with Adidas from day 1. So its possible Kobe could have been "around 20" with both of them promo'ing Adidas.

    Screw Kobe Bryant.

I fully realize this post adds nothing, but it's just cathartic to say.
