i hate to say this, but jimmer wouldn't be a bad idea as a backup guard on this team. with so many possesions, he's have enough of a green light to be a threat.

At his current contract rate I wouldn't call him fool's gold, he's a good complimentary player that plays excellent defense and provides awesome off the ball d with his athleticism.

But again if you're throwing him James Harden type money I'd pass, that's too much for production that Parsons could provide at more than half the cost lesser than J-Smoove.

I'd honestly prefer Gortat over Smith...

Josh Smith is a loser. He would reduce the Rockets team IQ by 20 points with his mindless style of play.

    Rockets need to keep Parsons.

Parsons has a better jump-shot than Josh Smith and that's about it. Josh Smith is substantially better defensively, he'd change the entire dynamic of the team.

He's not substantially better defensively, although he'd definitely do a better job of defending 4s, seeing as he is a 4 and Parsons is a 3.

Josh Smith is a far better player than Parsons. But Parsons is a better fit. Josh Smith has no range and is better suited for an east coast team that slows things down and grinds out their offense.

Chemistry. Remember guys we need players that fit with each other.

I don't get the continued love for Millsap by so many here. I may be making a generalization, but I went looking for Millsap highlight clips and it seemed most of them were from 2 or 3 years ago. He's not the same highlight film guy he was 2 years ago.

On D he's not going to stop LeBron or Duncan and guys like Scola and Patterson have scored 20pts against Utah.

If you go to any Jazz forum you'll see the their fans aren't begging for the team to resign Millsap. They know Favors is a taller more athletic shot blocker with a higher ceiling than Millsap.

If he's not the future of the Jazz then why should we expect him to be the future of the Rockets?

i think it's clear from the way that we continue to get abused in the the post, and let opponents waltz into the paint for easy layups, that we need an additional low-post presence.

can they stop having parson's D up on opposing power forwards? He gets his ass kicked every time.

Gortat solves that problem. An Asik/Gortat combo would be a sick "no trespassing sign" in the paint. We could have badly used that the other night against the clips.

The guys on ESPN said it last night. We don't have any shot blockers. I know Delfino has helped us a lot this season, but all he can do on D is poke the ball away from behind. This current losing streak matches his increased minutes and early entry into games. He needs to go back to being an offensive sparkplug off the bench. Parsons and Delfino have a grand total of 9 blocks combined(Lin has 15 btw). Give the minutes back to Patterson, Morris and even Smith.

Its gotten tiring listening to opposing announcers say every game how Asik is Houston's only shot block presence.

And then of course the lane gets attacked with a vengeance as soon as Asik goes to the bench.

To be fair, the Jazzholes are working the young studs into the mix. Millsap gets Harden 2011- type minutes as a result.

It isn't that Millsap is ALL THAT, but he'd fit the team well. Plus, knowing Morey, he'd try to flip him for Klove in 2 yrs.
