The chick, love of his life, was in a car wreck, got leukemia, and died but he never went to see her? Ever? That is hard to believe. THis is one thing I am wondering about. Deadspin said they found the woman who was in that picture and she is claiming to not even know who Manti Te'o is but given there is some third party testimony to having met this woman could it be possible she is, if not the instigator, a very willing participant in the hoax? Just weird all around and the gay angle might be possible but another possibility that I haven't heard much talk about is whether Manti Te'o might have some mental issues. One symptom of schizophrenia is interacting with people that aren't there so could it be possible that Manti Te'o wasn't out to deceive to cover up but actually had a delusional relationship?
