Check again...it was Lin with 37 points. This shows that Lin can be as explosive scoring as anyone in the league...can he be consistent, probably not.

Not hating on Harden but first of all, you do know he shot 5-23 today right? The 20 points he had today certainly did not help considering how he got them. I think he was actually trying too hard to keep that 20 PPG streak alive; therefore, forced shot after shot.

Secondly, you do know Harden averages (3.7) more TO per game than Lin (3) right? So please don't be stupid and bring up Lin's TO when you are comparing with a guy who turns it over more

Finally, you do know Mchail put Harden as the # 1 option right? Meaning he is given the green light to take most of the shots on the team. So you CAN'T expect Lin to have a PPG anywhere close to Harden. Today's game is a perfect example, Harden will always get his points; even though his shots were horrible today, he still got 20. Why do you think? Well do you think his 23 shots have anything to do with it. You think Lin can't average a higher PPG if he was the # 1 option and has his coach support and put him in a position to succeed. Did you watch Lin play and know how many PPG he had when he was the #1 option during Linsanity? Also, did you watch the Spurs' game this season and know how many points he had when Lin was the #1 option? I don't even think mchail views Lin as the 2nd option right now.

I hate to compare them since they are teammates; I would like to see them both do well (it does not have to be one or the other) which then will result in more wins. This response is because of your bias view. So please no more Harden and Lin debate.

Agreed, I just want to tell him to just snap out of this funk and start playing aggressive. He has the potential to do it but it is just him having the confidence to do it.

Can't really sag off the PnR Handler when the Roll man sets a good pick...both the defenders could sag off the handler, following the roll man and cutting off the lane to the handler, but Lin has shown he's pretty good at shooting 15-17 footers off the dribble, and he's also quick enough to get by the defender that's sagging off the pick trying to cut off the lane.

If Harden has an abnormally bad game, the team just can't win considering we run everything through him. Hopefully he got it out of his system and we win the next one. We need a win bad...

I think the problem is Rockets seem to play zero midrange game so those 15-17 footers would probably be frowned upon. I feel like this is often why Lin seems to pass up open midrange shots either to try to lay it up or for someone else to shoot the 3.

You pretty much summed up my feelings about this debate. I think we are not utilizing Lin properly just like we are not utilizing our rookies.

Again, I blame the loss on McHale just like most of the other losses during this season.

I don't want him to jack 3s, I want him to drive to the hole aggressively like he did towards the end of the game tonight. Not reluctantly take end-of-shotclock 3s (or long two's). We know those are never gonna go in. I'm not saying to play like Westbrook, but I'd like to see his mentality a little more like Westbrook's. He needs to act like he's our second option, instead he acts like he's our fifth.

He has a higher degree of diffuculty on a lot of his shots. He's a volume shooter and he's gonna have a slightly lower percentage. He's shooting a much higher percentage on 3s. Anyway, read above, I think Lin would benefit from having a more aggressive attitude and trying to look to score more, I want him to stop half-heartedly going in the paint looking to pass.

I thought you said scoring average. Lin had a great game that night but we still lost. I know he can have great games that's why I'm frustrated with him playing scared a lot.

Can't agree with you more on that.....one game he looks like he's not...then the next. Perhaps, mentally he still thinks he doesn't belong....

Hey folks, arguing with LOFs is a waste of time. LOFs are comparing Lin to CP3, Hakeem and now Westbrook. What's the point of arguing with them?

Not gonna happen. Tonight Lin was in Linsanity mode in the 4th especially on that unusual three off the pick which he almost never attempts. Remember, McHale doesn't want Lin to be Linsanity when he has Harden.

I really think it has to do with coaching staff. Last season Lin was borderline cocky on the court and played with a huge ego. I just don't see how suddenly he is just choosing to be timid. There has to be something causing him to play this way imo. Most of the time he just looks uncomfortable out there, confused, or often both.

Where is our fast break? We were slowed down too much in the losing streak. Gotta find a way to gear up, that's how we win!

Poor pass by Lin to Parsons and he choked at the line. Still he at a minimum got it close in the 4th.

The worst game of the season for Harden. He still rebounded well and passed well, but terrible game. We had gotten spoiled on his efficiency.

I still don't think you get it. Where can he drive to the hole aggressively if they aren't any driving lanes? if the are driving lanes available he almost always drives. Once again he needs to be a better shooter. Part of the reason why the driving lanes aren't there is because he cannot shoot he contributes to the problem. His terrible shooting makes it harder on everybody else on the roster. He will NEVER be the Rockets second option until he has a better shot. I am just baffled that you don't see this.

Also him & harden are the only two players who are double teamed on the roster. Why do you think parsons & Carlos are getting those wide open lanes to the basket because it is Lin & harden that are being double teamed & because they can shoot. Lin needs to learn in the off season how to split the trap. All he knows how to do is pass out of the trap he can't split them yet. Lin can't split traps & he can't shoot. Get used to the version of Lin you are seeing now because this is going to be him until he fixes his shot first & foremost.

here are my thoughts regarding this team.

    1) we have too many PGs. besides those dedicated pgs, lin, td, and pb, we have a few more players playing outside their positions. harden plays like pg, parsons plays like pg, and now delfno plays like pg too. they dribble, dribble, and dribble and try to create something for other players. have you ever seen so many pgs on a team? those players need to stop doing this and stay with their roles and let real pgs do their job.

    2) lin is who he is. if you think he can improve and can play better than what he did during linsanity, you are day dreaming. well, on the flip side, he is a star if he can play like he did in NY.

    3) when lin plays his game, he is super. however, if he plays with a mindset of how to co-exist with harden, he is an average player or even worse. he has to be the leader of the team and has the ball in his hands. if we keep lin and maximize his capability, we have to make harden play less pg role. harden has to be a sidekicker. no doubt harden will still be successful. it has been proved when he was with the thunders. however, i really doubt harden will take this role. rox might have to trade lin eventually.

or maybe it shows he can just have a good game? Kyle lowry scored 30 points before but how often do you see him do that? he's capable also. but that doesn't mean anything if you only break 30+ one game a season.

Yes! He was cocky and had a swagger about him during NYK. Right now, they are way the hell overcoaching him. It's ridiculous. Let the guy fuqin PLAY! It was like watching my 49ers playing new england when the niners were up by 4 td, and then Jim Harbaugh was running the ball, allowing Brady to get back. It's like dude, it's Brady! Come on! Air the friggin ball out! Let Lin play!
