Are we tanking? Why is Delfino on Nowitzki? Why abandon the Harden Lin pick n roll in the last minute that was unstoppable the entire 4th quarter? Is Lin being instructed NEVER to take a midrange shot? Why is Delfino in the game if he can't make a shot and has 5 turnovers, even on a DEFENSIVE possession?
Delfino's actually one of our better defenders, boss. As a huge McHale detractor I feel like he did a good job tonight. This wasn't on him at all. This was on a terrible first quarter and blown free throw opportunities by Harden and Lin. Our team is young, the youngest, and the ups and downs are to be expected. But blowing free throws there is no excuse for. Really love the Lin Harden PnR a lot so that's a positive. Plus Beverly usurping Douglas on the depth chart. Also a positive.
Your points are good, and I will admit I missed the first quarter. Still, I feel like our coaching somehow always pulls the wrong card at the end of games, and I'm trying to figure out why.
Extended play for Asik meant that Harden and Lin were going to have a tough night driving to the basket since his man will just camp out in the lane. Teams are adjusting to us by crowding the lane and forcing Parsons and who ever is playing PF to beat us.
I agree on this. No matter how good a defender Delfino is, Dirk still has a lot of inches on him w/ a high release - Delfino would have no chance - so we had to double every time. Would rather have had Parsons on Dirk and Delfino on Marion.
One question for the coaching staff WHY DONT WE HAVE MORE FRIGGIN PICK AND ROLL PLAYS FOR LIN?!!? Even Harden knew to do that tonight for Lin. Harden is a great ISO player while Lin is a really good Pick and roll guy. Why don't we leverage more of that?!!

Delfino shouldn't have been in that game to close. That play that McHale drew up in the 4th quarter for Lin was crazy. The Lin harden PNR was unstoppable & McHale drew up some other madness. Lin is not a catch & shoot guy he hits jumpers off the dribble after the screen is set don't know why he didn't stick with that. Watch Mchales substitutions in the 2nd quarter for a few laughs it is entertaining.
Dirk gets a lot of his points based on craftiness and taking advantage of the defenders mistakes. It isn't so much about putting length on him. I understand McHale choosing to put a more veteran defender on him to close the game.
the players did not lose the game tonight, McHale got out-coached. Do you think in clutch situation, phil jackson will let David Ebanks attempt a 3 pt while Kobe was in the game. Thats why you have superstars, and pay them superstar money, and you let Delfino take that 3 while you have Harden on the floor. I would have preferred is Harden took that shot and missed cos he will learn from it for next clutch moment. Not freaking Delfino. FIRE MCHALE. Let him go screw another franchise over. You do know that Tyson does not shoot 3 right? I thought Lin was playing well with him. I think as long as our C is setting the screens, we do not have this crowding the lane issue.
