Pretty insane how much money baseball players make compared to others pro sports. (excluding endorsements)
Blue Jays are really selling the farm. GM must feel his job is dependent on playoffs with the jettison of prospects recently.

AL east is as winnable as it's ever been. Bautista and Encarnacion are in their primes. Time to win is now.

Even saying he bombed out in Boston is unfair. He started the season terrible, went to AAA where he dominated, and after being called up posted a 4.19 ERA, and his WHIP for the entire season was 1.267. Only his HR rate last year showed any regression.
Indians have signed Nick Swisher(4 years, $56 million(!), with a vesting option for a 5th year, totaling $70 million.)

Read some of his feed. He actually likes Melancon. However, he did suggest some sort of package deal to get Lowrie which...wait for it...involves the Astros getting Barmes. lol.

Nationals have signed Rafael Soriano to a 2 year deal worth $28 million with a vesting option for a third year.
Going for it all baby! Storen had his Lidge moment and will probably struggle next season...good signing.

A little disappointed the Nats didn't get more. Traded a proven power hitter for a pitching prospect who has all the tools except for the fact that he can't seem to pitch well. Oh well. The Beast will be missed.
Oh wait, now I remember. Cole was sent to Oakland with Derek Norris and Tommy Milone for Gio Gonzalez. Rough start, but fared well after a demotion.
