Trust me, i've seen a ton of Hawks games. I've heard the Hawks fans literally scream "Don't Shoot" whenever he takes jumpers.

So with Joe Johnson gone and Josh Smith being the Hawks #1 option this season.. His numbers.. 16.5ppg, 8.3rpg, 3.7apg, 1.3spg, 2.3bpg. Yes he can be a stat sheet stuffer but for a power forward to average.. 43% on FGs, 51% on Free throws, and turn the ball over 3 times a game, i'll pass. Don't forget that you'll be paying him a max contract as well or at least the majority of our remaining cap room. He's fools gold, trust me.

We need a legit post presence who can stretch the floor and someone you could rely on during crunch time, knock down jumpers, or get fouled and hit the majority of his free throws.

This is the last time i'm going to reply about Josh Smith. Not on this thread, at least. Go ahead and start a Josh Smith poll and lets see what the majority of our fellow Rockets fans think.

I will always be opposed to spending max salary or even near max salary on him. He's not what this team needs.

I do. For a star. Like Love or LA.

    Not for Millsap or Gortat.

This definitely happens and is hilarious. He's not the smartest dude on the court for sure and MAX money would be overpaying the guy. However, he's a good fit as long as the coaches can reign him in. I know that's the standard "he'll be better on our team - w/ our system/philosophy/guys" line spouted by fans all over the league, but Smith becomes a much better player if you can get him to adjust his shot selection. He's the kind of athlete I would want at the 4 for this team.

I'm sorry but we don't need any diva/stats padding player here. Unless you want chemistry to be ruined, I'd hesitate on some of these trades.

I wouldn't trade Parsons for anyone. I would trade all the PFs on the roster for Milsap though.

LOL! How do you lose 40 points to a Bulls team without Derrick Rose?

Asik for Gortat is somewhat of a lateral move, but I honestly think Gortat is slightly better overall (combination of offense, defense, and intangibles - clutch scoring, athleticism, durability/endurance - Asik probably needs a more reliable backup than Gortat, making other players, and etc).

Still, I wouldn't trade straight up for Gortat, because Asik is a few years younger with slightly more potential and a valuable big body with possible better role play. Additionally, Gortat is somewhat peaking right now, though its still hard to conclude that he won't improve as a defender on right team (because he wasn't that bad in Orlando).

Now if it's a deal that's nets us Gortat and Millsap w/o touching the other 3 best players. I'd say let's make a deal. I hate to say this for alot die hards on this board, but over the last 7 seasons or so ... the only players that are irreplaceable for the Rockets were a healthy T-Mac/Yao and James Harden. Everyone else was/is more than tradeable. Sorry, Chandler and Lin guys.

I agree that anyone except Harden is tradeable. Now that our hot streak is over and our team has been exposed, watch Morey start tinkering with the team to get players to surround Harden with.

If he did not hesitate to gut the roster this summer, he will not hesitate to let go players who the FO foresees will not contribute to winning consistently.

There is some evidence that Parsons was offered in a package with Lowry and picks to Charlotte for their pick this last draft.

I don't think Parsons is off the table but he isn't some throw in. When it comes down too it, I think Harden is the only legit "off the table guy" but in my opinion they would be hard pressed to upgrade Parsons/Asik which is why I put them in the keeper list.

    Hellz naw to J.Smith.

Maybe to Gortat if we can get rid of PPat/Morris and have a Gortat and Asik front court. Mad defense.

I'd trade a few of our prospects for Milsap, he's the gritty PF we need to take this team to a higher level. Still missing another All-Star next to Harden but Milsap would be nice.

Josh Smith would be a great 3rd-4th option on this team, but he'd strictly be plan B-

Josh Smith will receive at least near max contract offers this summer. I rest my case. Exactly why i call him fool's gold.

all i want is a four that can set a pick, rebound, cheap and can score! he doesn't have to be a goat, just a perennial all star. where can we find this man?
