I think the Pats will let Welker walk and sign Hartline much less and end up with very similar production

    I expect Amendola to re-up w/STL

I would rather have Hartline on the cheap... Hes a very good player.. Not sure how much he well command.. but theres some teams out there with some cash to spend.. so he might get overpriced

I'll be stunned if he signs for less than 8MM per year.

Hartline may be white but he's not a Welker-type-player by any stretch.

Isn't that around what Wayne got, a little less? Sounds about right if so.

If that's the case I wonder what Dwayne Bowe will make.

Wayne, at 33 years of age, signed a 3 year deal worth about 6MM per year.

Jennings is 29. I'm guessing he gets a 4 year deal at about 8-9MM per year.

Exactly what I was alluding too when I added the "a little less" -- Wayne got less because of his age I imagine. Wayne is the better player. Jennings is a good receiver in a great offense with a great QB. He'll regress statistically in just about any other situation. A guy like Wallace, who I don't even like all that much would have a bigger impact IMO, he can stretch the field, make things easier on other players. That is, if Schaub/Kubiak were willing to aggressively challenge opponents by actually targeting him deep.

Percy Harvin is a legit #1. No way we can afford him.

I concur that Jennings will be paid more than he is worth.

I would cut Walter and go after Amendola, assuming Posey will be ready to go. Put Posey outside and Amendola in the slot. But I suspect they won't due to his lack of blocking ability (due to lack of size).

We need a WR that can make Schaub better, make things easier. Yeah, Amendola would do that. I'd love to get him, what's the price tag?

If we're signing/starting receivers because of their blocking ability, that means we haven't changed our offense at all, and that's bad news bears.

Spread the field. Line up your TEs out wide. Get Arian in space. He's a great one cut back, but he's even better when he's catching the ball out of the backfield.

Assuming Posey will come back as an outside guy after the achilles is a stretch. His size and hands may make him our slot guy if healthy enough to play. This team needs a burner to stretch the field.

I'd rather try to get Bowe who maybe cheaper coming off an injury( I guess the same can be said about Jennings) Bowe is younger though

Not basing it on whiteness, but thanks. also not saying he's equivalent, but that they can get more out of him than he did in Miami

did you watch Welker play in Miami? He was good, but underrated with bad QBs

Welker and Hartline are completely different types of WR's. I watched Welker in Miami, he kicked a few field goals I believe. He was also traded for a 2nd round pick (they traded less for Moss) so it's not like he didn't show promise. Hartline looks solid but he gets shutdown by good corners and he's just nothing like Welker so you cant replace Welker, a slot, with Hartline.

Was Hartline's season like Kevin Walter's best season? Up until this season I thought he was just a guy who would fall behind Davone Bess in the MIA pecking order.

I'd rather go for Bowe as well, but Bowe won't be cheaper than Jennings. He has a size, health, and age advantage.

Ya. Bowe is gonna clean up. Probably more years and a higher amount of guaranteed $.

What do you mean like Walter? I'm just saying Hartline is nothing like Welker and the Patriots could never replace Welker with Hartline. Hartline is a different type of player. He's much more similar to Brandon Lloyd than he is Welker.

If you're asking if Hartline's season was a fluke I'd say no, he's a solid WR with upside but he disappears when good CB's get on him.
