I watched his D-League games and I was impressed. He plays with a lot of confidence and with great energy. He had one game where he made about five 3 pointers.
The guy looks good on the floor tonight...much different then Machado did in the those garbage minutes. His movements are very similiar to Douglas...hard to tell them apart.
His defese in his few minutes was top shelf stuff. His foot movement and ability to mive was refreshing. He is robaly our best wing defender allready.
I can tell he'll be one of my fav players once TD is gone/ a role opens up for him. He's very sound defensively, TD is great on the ball but he gets over aggressive at times I think Beverley Skills can stay in front of his man more often than Douglas. Looking forward to more of him in the future.
I only watched the early part of the game the other day. For that short amount of time, <A HREF="http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Patrick-Beverley-1132/"> Beverly</A> and <A HREF="http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Tim-Ohlbrecht-536/"> Ohlbrecht</A> were fun to watch. It'd be great if we could see more of these guys.
Patrick Beverley's PER is 107.94 after his 2 minute stint today =P (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3964/patrick-beverley) Clearly, we need to give this guy all 48 min at the PG spot!
Clearly he's not being utilised enough. His usage % shouldve been higher - imagine if he did the shot, steal and assist in only 1 min instead of two!
Drafted in 2009 by the Lakers, traded to the Heat. The Heat actually gave him a two-year contract, which I read somewhere they paid him, but cut him before the season. He got his first NBA minutes last night. You could tell he was pretty ecstatic about that. Really wish McHale would not be stubborn about his rotations esp. when it's obvious we cannot compete with the opposing team. He's a survivor. I guess he is experienced enough to adapt his game to what his team needs. Surprised that he can defend well. He was a lights out scorer in his younger years. I think he will stick this time in the NBA.
We don't have to wait for Douglas to get traded to use Beverley. And Beverley doesn't have to take minutes from Douglas.
Lmao, awesome. I wonder if McHale will play Beverly a few more minutes next game (7ish), I'd really like to see what this kid can do. McHale likes small ball so maybe we'll see a bit more of him sooner rather than later.
THIS~~ the upcoming trade can't happen soon enough. As soon as Douglas, PPatt and/or Morris is off the roster, the better I will feel. I like Douglas overall but he's so small to play PG and I'd like more length out there. (The T-Rex arms of Douglas and Morris just don't cut it on defense). When we have Lin guarding Crawford, you know we've got holes in our defense and more importantly our roster.
People overstate how good his defense was the last 2 minutes of the game. He gambled and got lucky, which was smart since he was already beat on the cross back by Crawford. He did just as poor a job everyone else did since he was unable to stay in front of Crawford. I will say that his defense is less sporadic and more calculated than Douglas, and he's probably better than lin at guarding fast guards a la nate. Not sure about big guards like billups though
