Harden came off the bench for OKC. Is he just a "backup?" Was Sefolosha the better player because he starts? I guess Willie Green > Crawford because he technically starts, although he plays less minutes and doesn't close games. smh.

 

Anyway back to the game.

Agreed it frustrates me that McHale doesn't give Greg more burn.

Yes parsons was solid today. Very pleased with him. Once again he needs to pass on teh fast break. He has such tunnel vision on the break it is frustrating needs to keep working on that he will only get better. But he had that nifty behind the back dribble & was able to get the bucket which had me cheering. Yes I know I always rag on Chandler for doing this.

Jason Terry comes off the bench for Courtney Lee so is Terry his backup?

Harden came off the bench for Sefolosha. Was he his backup?

 

I think both Patterson and Morris like to come off the bench. Both are bad as starters and do better coming off the bench.

 

I always thought it was the frontcourt and backcourt playing well together that was the main issue for this team. It feels like our backcourt is getting run over, which in turn is stopping our output in the front court. Can someone run some stats and confirm/deny this?

 

If thats what he meant he shouldve been more clear.

 

Not at all, but just annoyed and perplexed by the often one-sided commentary on Lin.

 

This was the first game in a while that I don't remember him turning the ball over traveling or dribbling off his foot...

Do you know what the 6th man role is?

It's typically a guy who just comes off the bench to help the bench unit. This player usually plays MORE minutes than the starter at their position and on top of that finishes the games.

Man came off the bench. Terry comes off the bench. Harden came off the bench.

Not because they are backups, because they can help out the bench unit or maybe because their style of play doesn't mesh well with the starters.

Look at who finishes the games. Crawford does. Green was on the bench and Crawford started to school our entire team.

 

May I suggest you go to the Jeremy Lin forum and avoid Clutchfans. The Jeremy Lin forum has Lin love 24/7. You should be happy there.

LOF fans acting like morons once again. The sad thing is he played a good game but it gets overshadowed by idiots who don't know anything about basketball ruining thread after thread.

 

I was pretty clear.

Also usually a guy in this role will never start. Even if the guy starting gets hurt the Coach will instead then start someone else just to keep that guy in the 6th man role.

That's why he's not a backup. Not even in the literal sense because he can't be replaced on the team like any bonfide starter on that team he's vital to that team if they hope to go deep in the playoffs.

Lol, that is a terrible picture. I've nearly thrown up looking at it from my desk.

 

I hope we get a good PF before the trading deadline. Morris and PPat are terrible.

 

It's our only hope for making the playoffs.

 

One of the commentators always comments on Lin's passing ability not sure who it is. He said & I quote "I love watching Lin passing because he always has such a big smile on his face he seems to get such joy out of setting his teammate up for high % shots"

Anyway for the most part they do seem to be a little bit more mocking when it comes to Lin but I don't think it is a bad thing. Lets face it Lin is a poor shooter. Also these are the same commentators that said Douglas is clutch....
