He probably puts us in the playoffs THIS year and makes us as good as Golden State?

Even with Asik, our frontcourt is the weakness of the squad. Bringing in a vet like Milsap to play alongside him would make a huge difference to our 'interior toughness'. Since he's an expiring, he makes very little difference to our plans beyond this season anyway.

We really want to make the playoffs this year and fulfill that draft pick obligation. Getting that thing out of the way is important when it comes to future negotiations.

Anyone who pays watches Milsap, how good is he on defense compared to Patterson on D?

I am not talking about the source. The source is irrelevant. I am talking about the posters on this thread who said that they would give up Omer for Marcin. I personally do agree with the source I doubt the Rockets give up Omer.

Would freaking love Millsap here!!! I don't know what the cost would be, though.

I called Gortat AND Milsap...probably because i named like 15 players we could target, but i'm still proud.

    Lin/Beverley
    Harden/Delfino
    Parsons/Delfino
    Millsap/Gortat
    Asik/Gortat

Hmmm, not sure if this is even possible in terms of matching contracts- would literally have to trade everyone not included in this rotation to make this possible, including all of the young talent to pry Gortat and Millsap away. Does Morey think this could be a contender?

I honestly believe Marcin Gortat is a Championship Team starting center. He can block shots, play in the post, PnR, and rebound. Does everything you want from a Center. My opinion of Millsap is mixed, but would love to have Gortat.

love the idea of Gortat! He would complement Asik very well. They both rebound and block shots. Gortat's offense is underrated while Asik defense is superior.

Hate the idea of Milsap only because he is gonna cost allstar money and he's not an allstar. as much as i like him i don't think he's that 2nd franchise piece we need.

Go balls out for Gortat!!!!!!!!!! Get er done Morey!

    Really...???

Doesn't it seem like Gortat has reached his ceiling showing the best he can do...??? Yes he has a decent low post game but would do us no good against OKC, San Antonio, or Memphis, etc. Asik looks like he can get better and is already a better rebounder.

Maybe if it was another player included that the Rockets could use...

What is it about Lin that makes you think he is not replaceable. He was brought in as a stepping stone to a better piece.

Harden, Parsons and Asik all bring something to the team unique and rare in the NBA. Lin is a below average starting PG in league stacked with talent at the position. His trade value is from his off court contributions, ie money making.

No, I certainly didn't forget anyone. You seem to not know how Morey operates

What have you been smokin Roxxy? Delfino isn't a better defender and he can't drive to the basket(only 13% of his shots are at the rim, 19% and 25% the previous 2 seasons). Parsons takes 40%+ of his shots at the rim.

He' played a big role in our success this year, but he's slow and unathletic. No way could Delfino replace Parsons.

Oh you know how Morey operates then you must know him personally? Say hi to him for me when you get the chance. Also tell him that I am a big fan of his work.

Millsap would be ideal but at what cost. I would also look into prying JSmith from Atlanta if Millsap does not go through.

    Def xRAPM Delfino 0.68
    Off xRAPM Delfino 20.4

    Def xRAPM Parsons -0.41
    Off xRAPM Parsons -1.86

Fun fact, Delfino & Lin are the only two players on the Rockets that are both positive Off xRAPM & DEf xRAPM

I find it hilarious that people think that Parsons has been as good defensively as he was last year. He hasn't been. Even Morey adressed this saying that it is because he has been carrying a bigger load offensively. Delfino on the other hand has been pretty good defensively.

Parsons has a higher FG% at the rim (65%) but he has had a lot more shot attempts (100 of 152). Delfino's FG% at the rim isn't too bad either (60%) on (15 of 25).

Just because Delfino drives to the basket less doesn't mean he can't. Delfino shoots 3's that is his job but when he drives he is quite good at it. Parsons also frequently drives to the rim & gets blocked or gets the ball stripped. That happens to him a lot more than Delfino. Parsons may be more athletic but Delfino definitely is the better decision maker.

But like I said I would choose Parsons over Carlos.
