Gortat doesn't fit. We already have a (better) center and Gortat isn't a 4.

Yes and yes. I wonder if the Suns are interested in having the twin bros on their team?

Morris + Motiejunas, Patterson + Motiejunas, or even Jones + Motiejunas if they're looking to trim salary and acquire young assets. No way Morey trades Parsons.

I'm cool with Omer as well. But wait till you see how effective a Lin or Harden/ Gortat pick and rolls can be and i'm pretty sure we would all love having him given Omer's ineffectiveness on P&R's. Gortat can defend and rebound as well. He fits our system.

I'd love to get Gortat. We are relying way too much on Asik as it is and we have no true backup center. I personally think Gortat is better than Asik and I'd rather start him at the 5 but that's a moot point. I'm sure both of these guys enjoy being starters and probably wouldn't like going back to the 2nd unit but there's plenty of minutes for both guys because Gortat is athletic and quick enough to play minutes at the PF spot as well or play the 5 when we go small and decide to run.

I think around 25 Minutes for Asik would be ideal at the center spot. 30 minutes for Gortat between C/PF would be good. Of course this can change depending on the lineups and or who's playing well but just a thought.

We should free Marcus and reuinite him with his twin.

Gortat for Marcus Morris, Patterson and Aldrich.

This move will free up more minutes for Greg Smith, T Jones and D-Mo in the future if they're here but also paves the way for us to make that big move for our true 4 before the deadline or in the offseason.

Most importantly we can quit lollygagging Patterson and Morris at the 4. Patterson looks like a 4 who plays small and has no true SF skills. Morris has some skills of a 3/4 but he's too small to play the 4. Luckily for us they both increased their asset value this season although their stock has dropped in the recent weeks I'd try to sell right now.

I believe we'll get Gortat before the trade deadline, somehow. Morey targeted him before. Morey gets what he wants, sooner or later. See the recent example of Lin (got him before but had to release him), Asik (we were in talks about a Lee/Asik swap but Bulls declined).

Gortat can play the 4 perfectly well on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he can guard virtually any 4, including stretch 4s. Besides, Asik can guard virtually any 4 anyway. Starting Asik-Gortat at 4+5 is not going to be a problem. If anything, Gortat's stock isn't as high as it ought to be because many still don't think he's a true 5.

I don't think Marcin is as good of a defender & rebounder as Omer is. Yes Gortat is much better offensively though but I don't want to sacrifice our D considering our D is already bad as it is. If we could keep Omer & get Marcin I would love this. Have Gortat play the PF spot & keep Omer at center. That would greatly improve our D & provide us with the PNR PF that we desperately need. Also his rebounding would help provide spacing as well. Also Omer is a really good passer so he could just focus on playing D & passing to Marcin. If we only had to give up Patt, Morris & Cole & even Douglas for Gortat I would be stoked. Don't want to give up any of our rookies for him not even Royce.

I agree 100%. I love Asik by the way and won't give up on him but i'd prefer Gortat over Asik.

If you can nab Gortat and Milsap without giving up Parsons/Harden/Asik, you make it happen.

You have 96 minutes available at PF/C so 32 minutes among each is solid.

Asik and Gortat on the floor at the same time? How would Harden or Lin drive in the paint?

Just looked at the stats. Yeah Gortat isn't as good of a defender as Omer is. Like it isn't even close at all. I don't want to sacrifice our D & give up Omer for Marcin. To be frank the Rockets biggest issue isn't the O, it is there D & Marcin is a good offensive player but his offensive production in comparison to Omer (although significantly better) doesn't outweigh the inevitable defensive drop between both players.

I like Gortat's game, but I'm not sure about him as a 4. Not sure he can stretch the court enough to really open up lanes for Harden or Lin.

I'd embrace Millsap though, even though I'm not sure he's that 2nd stud that can really put us into the upper tier of teams.
