My buddy's ex-girlfriend placed first in womens in the Vegas course (she runs a hardcore fitness bootcamp). She said That the challenge is skewed due to lots of rest time at each challenge since the lines were so long.
It's more of a social event IMO than about fitness and exercise. It's like going to packed club to dance and acting like it's about choreography.
I'm considering doing the October 2013 course in Houston. Anyone have any training tips? I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into training-wise before I commit.
Placed third in one of these, my brother won one as well. I would try to run hills, distance training (running) is very important as well as a strong core. The best way to do one of these is to go into it with no expectations and to have fun. Mostly it is a motley crue of drunks.
