Folks...nothing to see tomorrow in terms of CP3 versus Lin then. No one is shutting no one out this round. Lin and CP3 will perhaps do a self-shutdown.:grin:If Lin doesn't play tomorrow...I'll bet he'll still get at least half the blame.

 

Bledsoe is the best defensive point guard in the game. He's so incredibly strong and quick, he freaking shuts down any PG he faces. He's also a shot blocker who, despite his 6'1" height, routinely challenges frontcourt players and blocks their shots at rim-level. Because of his combination of freakish athleticism and immense physical strength, some folks call him "mini-Lebron."

Just because Paul is out, don't expect the matchup with the Clippers to be any easier. It won't be. Bledsoe is a freak of nature.

 

Time for Harden to really step up... Maybe he can show CP3 enough (since he may be on the sideline watching) to make him consider joining the Rockets this off season.

 

TD and Beverley should be fine on defense.

Force Bledsoe to shoot deep perimeter shots which aren't his strength.

I'm just worried about the offense, because Bledsoe is a physical terror who shuts people down.

Anyway we are going to get our ass handed to us but I can't even be mad. It will be a learning experience. Morris vs Blake should be a interesting matchup. I just hope this young Rockets team battles.

 

A guy that doesn't even run an offense as well as Lin (since so many on here think Lin is incompetent) is gonna tear us up? Okay.

I see a lot of Lin Vs Paul talk in this thread, but honestly I like how Lin has done against other team's PG's this season. Most of the games he gets lit up are because we can't defend the PnR AS A TEAM at all.

I am MUCH more worried about the match-up at the 4.

Blake Griffin against Pat and Morris, 2 guys that neither defend nor box-out against the number 1 dunker in the league. This could get ugly for us, but you better believe I will be watching the Sportscenter highlights!

PPatt for sure. I would say Morris too except he doesn't even try to protect the basket.

 

Maybe that will ignite some fire into the two of them. fingers crossed!

 

Maybe Lin can lob some Alley-Oop zu Griffin while he is defending the basket, surely his body will dunk the basket for the rocket out of habit , he surely does dunk on Lin pass last year in the rising star challenge

 

Conspiracy theory #1: both CP3 and JLin trying to avoid each other...

Conspiracy theory #2: CP3 sitting out tonight to preserve energy for tomorrow...

More thoughts: If Lin doesn't play tomorrow there's a chance Harden will get 50 pts. (Harden scores more without Lin on court, I think), and the Rockets will decide to trade Lin.

 

Let's hope Memphis tires them out and takes them to 7 OTs.
Let's also hope Jeremy is good to go tomorrow, I don't think he's ever played against Paul and he mentioned playing against elite PGs is the most fun. I have noticed he's more pumped and focused when playing against them.

However if Lin is not able to play,

TD has had some success against the shorter Chris Paul in the past.

I'd much rather have TD face Chris Paul tomorrow, than Eric Bledsoe. Just because Bledsoe is a physical terror on defense and a freak athlete at both ends. Not an ideal matchup for TD or Lin.
