You point out te 49ers as the test case. They made a change because the coach knew that a "game manager" wasn't going to get them to the Superbowl.

You talk about football purgatory but keeping Schaub is exactly that. Maybe the defense gets better, maybe they don't have to face Brady or Rodgers in the playoffs, maybe Andre has 3 good years left.

An ass load of maybes but you still end up with a QB that can't win you a game when all else fails.

Bc there isn't one worth such a high pick. There could be value in the second (Nassib).

forget this QB idea...seriously...people need to stop being idiots...Schaub is the guy and he will either make or break this organization for the next 2-3 years...Our Backup could be Yates or Case Keenum

Our future is sealed with them...unless the Texans super stink next year and end up getting a top ten pick...then go after manzeil

you don't give an experiment a 6 year extension. unfortunately we are stuck with him. at least we'll be good (not great) for the next few years.

With all the hype surrounding him he'd be the white Tim Tebow.

And if it's college wins you want, I hear Colt McCoy is looking for a job.

We're stuck with Kubes and Schaub for at least another year. No one is happy about it, but that's just the way it is.

    1) it's 4 years

    2) he's only guaranteed money through next year (minus signing bonus)

    3) see SF/SEA for "money doesn't always win the day" scenarios

Everybody wants to get an elite QB but they're not easy to get.

I'd take a flyer on a QB maybe in the 2nd 3rd round and see if you can hit.

Focus on getting the defense back to elite status and getting another receiver to help out the current QB.

I've accepted Kubiak is going to be here a long time and Schuab will be in his 7th year here next year I don't see them pulling the plug unless things get really bad....

he is not over hyped...he has big play ability just like RG3 and did so against stiff competition...and the kid has a big arm...

I honestly think Manziel won't play a single down as an NFL QB.

Well, maybe a couple, for novelty purposes.

I will recall this post in 3-4 years and we'll see. I watched almost all of RG3's career, and Manziel doesn't compare and doesn't show the potential that RG3 had. I'll stick with the comparison to McCoy.

But this is a derail. Sorry OP.

    Hey Uncle Bob!

If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got.

    Think. About. It.

Oh my friend, this has nothing to do with Peyton Manning. Just to do with the thread starter saying 5 months ago that we should keep schaub for 7 years and that we will win big with him.

Sorry. Sometimes you just gotta suck it up and admit you're wrong, kid.

I still believe this is true.

You're putting words in my mouth, you should probably stop doing that.
