Pats have to cover the spread, but the NFL wants to retain the viewers for advertising revenue. More viewers = charge more $$$ for the time slot.

So frustrating, we can see what the offense is capable of when Kubes takes the reigns off. See also Jacksonville and Detroit. He just refuses to do it. Against lesser teams, that may be fine. But you play a team that can put up points and you can't keep your gun in the holster and then be slow on the trigger when you finally pull it out.
You honestly think the Pats are playing the same defense as they were at the start of the game? I do believe we can sling it around when we abandon the run completely... but eventually teams will catch up to that and you'll see more turnovers and a bunch of sacks. You still need the running game... but Schaub and co. can always pick up yards when the defense backs off the pressure.
