If we can somehow pull those 2 wins, we'll get right back on track but the last 3 games I'm very doubtful:(

you need to live in the moment and enjoy...experience shows theres no point in judging future based on present condition...especialy after a L...cause your perception is probably being messed up...these guys overachieved and overcome all expectations theyll do it again...even if they dont one can easily find another things in life to rejoice, can he not?XD

PF scoring, especially in the low post, is lacking. If we're not hitting our 3's, and Harden is being doubled, and the running game is slowed, and Lin is missing his layups, it's going to be tough. All of those things were happening last night, so I hope it's just an off night and not a portent of things to come. McHale needs to give spot minutes to the unplayed section of the bench, even if they all have holes in their game (they all do), they are still a fresh set of legs on a back to back. T Jones really needs to play. I don't know if Morey is just trying to ship Morris/PPat out or what, but Jones showed potential in his early-season minutes. Need to play the bench when the starters are fatiguing due to the schedule. McHale is coaching like he's a little league dad sometimes.

Yeah, that's a good way of putting it... I think some of us on here including me are just spoiled when we have a young squad like this with a winning record, our expectations are high as ****.. What we need to do like you said is to enjoy the moment right now...

The Rockets are what they are, a middle of the pack team that can win or lose on any given night. When the Rockets had a nice run, winning 12 of 15, I think a lot of people thought the Rockets might be a top ten team in the NBA. But look at the Rockets roster, that's not a top ten team.

The Rockets have a superstar in James Harden, they have a couple of nice role players in Asik and Parsons, but that's about it. The Rockets are a work in progress, there are still a lot of trades to be made, there is still a lot of building to be done. There is no need to be upset or frustrated with the ups and downs of this season, it's all part of the process of building a contender.

This team could look much different in just a view weeks as many people feel that the Rockets will be very active leading up to the trade deadline. With the acquisitions of Anderson and Beverley, we may be saying goodbye to players like Delfino and Douglas in the near future as the Rockets continue to build their team for the future. I'm not going to get too excited or too down about what our current team does because we still have a lot of changes ahead. It's been fun watching these guys overachieve this year, but this isn't the team that will win any titles.

There's nothing mysterious about not being able to execute - which the Rockets haven't been able to do in this mini losing streak. Freethrows, layups, threes - convert or lose.

    Kneejerks everywhere.

Win 4-5 games in a row = best potential team.
Lose some games in a row = will never win any titles.

The way I see it is, youngest team with extreme upside where everyone has showcased some extreme potential. Inconsistencies are going to happen because for many it's their first time playing a full season starting minute. Their bodies have not even adjusted to the wear and tear yet.

I've been watching NBA for a long time. When a team comes out young and go above 0.5 in their first 40 games together. Historically shown that such team will become title contenders. But hey, we can definitely kneejerk until that time.

yeah nothing misterious just a old good shooting slump happening from time to time to all good teams in nba and all over the globe

i remember when rockets started to look good after a bad start someone of the players said about the causes of the bad start:"its not that we weren't getting the good looks before, we did, its just that the shoots werent falling in, so we said lets just continue playing well and the shoots will start to fall..." and that was exactly what happened later...

the same applies now...the shots werent falling last 3 games....of course there are lot of things that we can improve in defense and offense etc but who doesnt? all teams could obtain some better play on some position etc... all teams could play better, could they not?

We're still a young team. There are going to be highs and lows. I have no problem with the losing streak. It's going to happen. Overall, the Rockets have surpassed everyone's expectations and we have a legit superstar which is something our fanbase has been clammoring for. Was nice to see Asik get back on track and Parson have a good game. We just need a PG and PF and we'll be all set. I think Lin spent the night in the hospital after what Holliday did to him. He probably needed a rape kit

    The Rockets need:

Better rebounding - Rockets' rebounding has slipped substantially (they are ranked about 15 or so now, after being in top 5 at start of season), as Omer has struggled as of late, and this has really hurt their fast break opportunities.

More use of bench - minutes for James Harden and Chandler are too high right now. McHale's position that they are young, and shouldn't be getting tired, is .. crazy. Anderson made substantial contributions of the bench for the Spurs in Nov/Dec. He might be ready.

They should also try to develop a mid range game/different options on offense. Watching them continue to launch 3PTer after 3PTers in 4th Qs, when they haven't been falling all night for them, is a bit surreal. That they are getting "open looks" (as McHale said after Hornets game) doesn't matter if their shot has gone MIA. Same for driving into the paint when opponents are clogging the paint, and officials' calls aren't falling our way.

They will easily beat Dallas. Haven't you been watching? The Mavs are in as much disarray as the Lakers.

Holiday had a better shooting night tonight, but doesn't mean he's better. Both Lin and Holiday are just average players (assuming you are correct that Lin is average). Just check all the other stats besides the point. Last checked Rockets still have the better record. These last three games are hard to watch since Rocekets didn't lose the games based on facing superior oponents, but losing based on super bad shootings (whether 3s or charity throws).

Lin looked a bit shook against Jrue, hesitant and a bit intimidated. I thought he also looked tired and a step slow.

(Incidentally, Jrue use to play intimidated against D Rose in the past also...;))

Anyway, Lin was hacked like crazy but the refs were letting calls go all night against the rockets. Parsons was hacked numerous times.

Jrue tore up Toney also, so the better defensive player didn't make much of a difference.

I don't understand why we don't play Greg Smith more, I was calling for more time for Greg at the beginning of the season and the few games when he got valid PT he delivered, it would be good for his development. And I see Greg as a better fit at PF than Ppat, Marcus Morris.

Philly was grabbing a lot of timely offensive boards, and Greg would have helped, also he plays strong and offers a better PnR dynamic for Lin/Harden.

We need to add more PnR sets into the play, far too many ISO than kick outs for threes or dump offs. Doesn't work too well when the team is fatigued or when you don't get any calls when you charge in there.

I said it before and I'll say it again, when Harden is out, a good line up would be: Lin, Toney, Defino, Greg, Asik.

Toney can bring the ball up, Lin to create with multiple picks from Greg and Asik and Defino can bomb from the three.
