You may not be trying to pile on Lin but you have little understanding off help defense it seems. And frankly you responded to someone who was piling on Harden by doing the exact opposite, piling on Lin. Talk about the hypocrisy.

Lol at people advocating more long twos (mid range jumpers). Go look up some basics on advanced NBA stats. Constantly shooting long twos are for losers.
We had a bad shooting night. That happens almost as frequently with mid range jumpers.

Beverley is with the Vipers last I saw, getting some play time and learning our play book.

As for taking the outside shots, I'm actually okay with him passing those up. If you're tired and you know you're not shooting well, it's smarter to take it to the rim and try to draw a foul or get an easy bucket.

The other thing he did was pass it to open shooters. We had no shortage of open looks. We just didn't make a lot of them.

    3 point shooting - 25.0%

    Parsons 1-7
    Harden 2-9
    Morris 0-2
    Lin 0-3
    Douglas 0-2

    Delfino 4-7
    Patterson 1-2

One thing to keep in mind that shooting statistics have the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. Lin doesn't necessarily know that a person is going to have a bad shooting night if they USUALLY make a good 3 point percentage.

And you really don't want your PG to stop feeding the ball to open players who normally shoot well. Shooting has high variability. Parsons, Harden and Morris have all had nights where they shoot poorly for a half then suddenly start making them.

Unfortunately, last night and tonight it just didn't come together.

Before everyone starts grinding on Jrue Holiday's dick, remember that he's a 4th year player and has been a starter since 09-10. He may be young, but he's got quite a bit of experience by now.

the problem is the offense itself. too much emphasis on shooting 3s and almost none on posting up.

lmao, we aren't changing the center just to put couple of assists for lin. this probably will cost us a lot of points in defence. I'm happy to have lin in this team, but there are some lofs are keeping comming up with non sense. we don't need a new coach and we don't need a new center atm.

LOL who is our post threat? Patterson Asik? LMAO. Rockets need a post threat. When we get one then we will start seeing post ups.

What usually happens with good teams when they stop making three's is they have players that can step up by creating their own shot. If role players are missing their spot up 3's, then usually there are at least two options that can take over. We only have one right now. We need another.

Next time read what I wrote. I said it was not Lin's fault because I expect it. Furthermore having played college ball I understand help defense better than you do. Last I would point out that "help defense" had nothing to do with Lin shooting 2/13.... As I pointed out, the Rockets do not expect Lin to out play Holiday, they know whom they were getting when they signed him. He is an overall average starting point guard. If he develops they can keep him, if he remains mediocre, his contract is short enough to move.

While the Rockets need more out of Lin, he isn't their largest concern. The power forward position is terrible.

The thing is he did pass up some open shots and tried to drive. All those drives were half assed though. I think because of the TO complaints (and the missing all the foul calls in tonight's case), he is doing a half assed job with his drives. He should take those shots when there isn't anyone else open.

I am starting to wonder if it's about the instructions from the staff since even Harden and a few others ignored him on the line tonight.

This was a terrible game. The Sixers are a mediocre team and we can't win

    Harden sometimes is so alone.

I'm worry about Lin. Not only with his offense. He couldn't guard Holliday so harden replace him, but he couldn't also guard Richardson.

Morris isn’t going anywhere; I think McHale needs to works in his confidence. Morris needs to believe in himself.

    2Pat 2 good games 2 terrible games.

McHale is a great coach but the team needs option when harden can’t get the ball

why did lin miss all those layups? Was it a really bad night for him or was he getting fouled?

The Rockets look like a totally different team out there the last few days. Harden has been consistantly good, and every game one or two other guys play OK, but everyone else plays like total ****.

I really feel bad watching these games.. sigh.
