Fan sites are the exact place one can expect to have leverage, through numbers, against this kind of crisis. Clutchfans should be the place where the petitions happen, where the mods are more concerned than anyone about so many people missing the games. This used to be a fan site.

    Not any more.

Apparently access to the team is more important than the 60% of the fans missing the games.

This used to be the best fan site in the country.

I'm sad about missing the games but I'm well more sad about how this site has turned.

Or, to put it a bit differently, when a fan site caters to under 40% of fans and gives the rest of fans the stink-eye, it is no longer a fan site.

This is no longer a fan site.

I'm not seeing how Clutchfans is providing special treatment to those who are able to watch the games and screwing over the rest.

This site is doing more to help fans who can't watch the games on TV keep up with the team than probably any other. This thread has been stickied for discussing or complaining about the on-going CSN issue, and there are threads for people to identify locations showing Rockets games and sites where the games can be watched online. And Clutch does a great job posting highlight plays during or right after most games. If you have suggestions on what more Clutchfans can do to support fans that can't watch the games, then post it here or in the feedback forum.

Clutch could refuse to work with Comcast instead of being a conduit for them and the Rockets. But, I wouldn't be able to resist either. I'd also dance with the devil for all that inside access, television appearances, and Rockets reporter perks. This site is badass, but that means it could be used as leverage to get Comcast and Rockets to stop being jerks...but that's not a guaranteed success either. I really hope this doesn't turn out like Portland where it drags on for years.

    This x1000. It's pretty obvious.

Though, I don't think this will play out as long as it has in Portland due to there being more than one sports team on the station. The Astros already know they have lost enough market share to the Rangers in this state. Blacking out the Astros at all this season will hurt them a lot. The Rockets are lucky they have some star appeal on their.

Yes, and a large majority of it is illegal.

2013 and live in a major city and the team only allows 40% of the previous fan base to watch the games legally. And we are lectured on where to post our disappointment about that, on a site I thought was run by fans and not the team/comcast. And that is fine, I said yes sir and moved on.

Right now it is Toyota center that is mostly empty even though the team is doing great, when this drags on for years like Portland those of us who can't watch will completely lose interest instead of being mad, when that happens this site will be half empty also, would it matter more then?

I think Clutch just probably got tired of seeing people reply " **** Les and **** Comcast" in other threads where it might be off topic. I don't think he is trying to help Comcast or the Rockets. We have a couple of threads here where we can talk about it and also the "Where to watch..." thread.

But, I completely agree with your statement of "**** Les and **** Comcast."Seriously, it's getting ridiculous that the majority of Houston can't even see the game on tv.

I think we need to ALL start mass posting on their facebook, mass emailing the rockets, tad brown (CEO of Rockets), Comcast SportsNet Houston and everyone involved. We need to get that "I hate CSN Houston" facebook page to go a viral. Also, everyone needs to stop buying tickets to the game, even with the clutchfans deal they are having. Stop buying tickets to the game. We really need to put in more effort in trying to actually force CSN to give Dish, DirectTV and uverse the channel. I think everyone has been thinking that it will end soon and there will be a deal done, but nothing is happening and nothing is going to happen. So lets actually plan something and maybe we need to all just go on a MASSIVE facebook posting binge on CSN's and the Rockets wall page. I mean like 200 people should be posting at the same time. Let's put something together.

Well, you know where the door is d******d. While I have never seen it, I do know that this site takes tons of time, effort, and money. They do this freely out of their own good will and all you do is b****. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a web server, and start a site. Either way, Clutch probably doesn't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

Jesus, Batman, you're off your rocker lately.

    Here is the problem . . .

Ironically this situation on this site has turned into a real life senario of the Uverse commercials. The older kids are telling the younger kids how good they have it today and how bad it was for them when they were kids, the young kids just look at them like "whatever" because they have no way to truly understand how good it is to be able to move the TV all over the place and watch it wherever they want, cause that has been the case for them forever. The guys here that have never lost the ability to watch the game like to chime in and give their opinion, but like those little kids in the Uverse commercial you really have NO IDEA AT ALL what it is like to be a true and loyal fan for literally your entire life, and then get shi* on by that organization.

So go ahead, get mad and rip what I post or whatever you want, i simply do not care . . .you do not understand

And one more thing, the thread that I got chastised for posting on was the one where the rockets group ticket folks are offering a discount to clutchfans . . .why do you think they are offering a discount? because the arena is more than half empty every game because their loyal fan base can't follow the team. So they make discounts and the ones that do have the ability to follow the team pay a little less for the tickets, and full price for parking and concessions. They better hope that the 40%ers can fill that building 41 times a year

The arena is not more than half-empty. Stop it.

Ok well to be honest I haven't been to a game and won't go as long as this goes on. I do know that when I see highlights on ESPN there are almost always more empty seats in the picture than filled seats. But regardless, enjoy watching the games, you have no freaking clue

Just for context, the post I replied to was being posted in other threads and I moved it here. I didn't just come in here and threaten a random complaint. And yes, I've tired of some simple Rockets threads being derailed into the "Comcast Sucks" and "**** Les" rants. That's exactly what this thread is discussing.

Note -- I didn't delete the post. I moved it to a thread that has been stuck to the top of our most popular forum ALL SEASON. The rant was not hidden ... it was moved to the appropriate thread. Do you think CSN execs view that as the actions of someone in their pocket?

As for going on the air -- The SportsTalk Live show producer asked me to be a guest on their show once to talk Rockets. I did... it was fun. I'd do it again if I was invited. It's really that simple. I'm not sure why some think that was wrong.

The first few years of this site, in the mid-late 90's, I did not live in Houston and couldn't watch a game unless it was nationally televised -- and I wrote recaps for every game then. I had to listen to online radio links, which is why these old links are still found in some places on our site. So I know how badly it sucks to not be able to watch the games.

But the games do go on, and some of us would like to talk about the games and players. For those who can't watch the games, I personally feel we've provided more of an outlet to discuss it and more info and resources than anyone, including a thread for people to post video links to the game... against my better judgement.

But no, I don't want the entire Rockets forum to turn into the "**** COMCAST" show, and no, I don't think that makes me their corporate buddy.

As for Batman Jones, it was after a Friday night at 3am so I can't really comment without knowing which bath salt he took, but he has crapped on every single action I've taken here -- stand still, go right, go left... doesn't matter. Then he sobers up and we get stuff like this:

    Nostradamus you are not.

Is 40% the new 47%? Because I dont think nonComcast channels will be getting thw Rockets anytime soon. In fact I dont even think its Comcasts intention to negotiate. Most likely this is a power play, an attempt to hustle other cable providers out of the city. Their bet is that your love of the Rockets will overcome your hate of Comcast. I would tend to believe them. Its not the be all end all because most Houstonians dont care about the Rockets. But for pissed off people like ya'll, making the effort to even cone on Clutchfans to air your grievances, you guys wont last forever.

Personally I am fine. I dont get any cable because Im at work too much to watch tv. But I have a bud with a nice place and the game on whenever a good game is to be seen. I just find it funny that people are proclaiming the end of the world because a deal cant get done in time. The truth is that a deal may never get done.

Could we sticky a seperate thread for updates on the situation only? I don't expect it to be updated everyday or anything, but it makes more sense to have a single thread dedicated to only updates, not useless bickering. I want to see the few updates we get without having to scroll down walls of text that will get nothing done.

Updates, now that is funny. Here is your update, nothing has changed since the season started and no changes are on the horizon. There you go, maybe they can use this reply as the start to the new thread

I think it safe to say if anything happens, anything worth talking about other than BJ losing his mind over nothing, it will have a new thread to announce it...otherwise it's just same ol same ol.

If you want to know what is going on, read the first post again....that is the extent of it at this time.

Why the hell are you so mad?

Your off-topic post was moved to this thread where it belongs, this is common practice at this forum....yet you cant stop the passive aggressive snipping at Clutch about it.

If you dont like the way things are done here....feel free to go back to realgm or whereever you came from....we dont need you nor do we care if you leave.

Less stress for you, less work for us...win win.

Ha, your posts sound much more angry than mine . .in any case, you do not understand so it's waste of time to try and discuss it with you. Have a great day and enjoy watching the game tonight.
