Ive said this before the season and warned that he gets an inflated rep for being a cerebral guy on the court. Thats partly why I made thia discussion. He needs to slow it down sometimes and play with diff paces, not only when attacking the basket but probing laterally for passing lanes.

I saw him euro step the last game in played in. Dude is learning and learning quick. Also been going left a few more times than usual.

Lin is a fast learner. At the pace he is going, he's gonna be a threat.

So much this. Patterson is hands down the worst screen setter I have ever seen in my entire life. He doesn't even tough the defender at all. It is like he just pretends to set picks just to be useful. McHale needs to teach these guys these basic fundamentals.

i want to see him CROSSOVER more instead of straightlining to the basket. like he did against metta world peace for the and-1. and i never want to see him standing on the baseline doing nothing when harden is on the bench. why the *** mchale plays TD at the point when him and JL are on the floor and harden is resting is a great mystery to me. it is a waste.

it's really is up to lin to be more aggressive. He needs to have the ball in his hands and be the playmaker when harden is resting. Too often, he is a spot up shooter and we know he is not confident with his shot. At times it looks like he can't even beat average defenders off the dribble, and the other time, he gets in the paint at will

I can agree he's a fast learner, but he doesn't keep what he's learned. He's up and down its like he learns something, puts it into action and a few games later acts like he forgot everything he's learned. he progresses and then digresses.

It's up to him at this point if he wants to improve as a player or not. At this point he's kind of staying in the same spot as a slightly below/average PG

he simply doesnt fit in this 3pts and layups only offense. hes good with pnr and a big that can finish. hes good when he is "allowed" to shoot 2s. he's good when there is player movement and someone to pass to... he is playing within the system. that's why he isnt "allowed" to play his own style. people keep saying its up to him, BUT he didnt design the offense. he is simply trying to fit in and its not working as well as it could be.

the SAME can actually be said of harden. he only drives for layups and shoots 3s. sooner rather than later he will be pigeon-holed in this offense and defending him will be super easy. how many step back twos has he taken this season? a few early on, but recently?

If by subtlety, you mean hitting his threes, I agree.

Yeah so much this. You can see it in his FT shooting as well. Sometimes he swishes FT's & sometimes he misses badly. His shooting just isn't consistent. Once that improves then everything else will get better.

Lin is the least experienced starter on the Rockets. Remember that.

No Morris is less experienced than him. Even Patt when he was starting was pretty inexperienced.

Yes I think I have seen ppat make 1 good pick in the pnr. Often he takes off running to the rim to early which alows the guards defender to stay between him and the rim. Not good. Asik does okay, but does way to many moving picks/screens and fumbles alot of easy passes. Strange I've seen him catch some really tough passes I thought where doomed for a TO.

My impression of PPT's pick is that he basically come up, and leave his defender to the ball handler, and he roll back quick and early, thus the ball handler is facing double team, and he is open, thus most of the time the ball handler will pop the ball to him, and he could turn around and shot a mid range. See that a lot when he was starting, not sure whether he is still doing that or not.
