You guys are ridiculous. The rockets have no legit bigs. There were holes all over that only become glaring when the rockets offense is attrocious. Bass and Garnet made full use of it. This is why we need a legit 4 or 5 and not someone like Josh Smith.

Only beef I have with McHale right now is staying too long with Morris when he is giving next to nothing right now. Like I said in another thread time to see what Dmo can do. Lack of down low presence and rebounding are starting to really hurt right now.

You mean when our 3s don't go in or Harden doesn't get to the line. You know, the offensive style we rely on when TD is on the court.

I love TD and all but this kind of gambit won't fly at the playoffs. McHale should go back to the tapes and study these games. Doubt he will with his huge ego though.

We don't run any sets and don't use screens or off-ball movement. We have been winning because of our pace but with his 8 man rotation the pace offense wasn't going to last the rest of the season. It's already non-existent. I really think any coach could have done what he has done.

He's playing Harden WAY too many minutes each night. Harden did not get any rest during 2nd half tonight until 1 minute left in the game when it was out of reach long ago. AND WE HAVE A GAME TOMORROW!

    What a moron!.

Would love for McHale to teach Patterson how to set picks/screens. Also found his substitutions to be a little odd again. All in all Rockets lost & I am not even mad. We will smack Philly tomorrow.

The coaches don't have our bigs to set proper screens for our guards, don't put down enough low post players to grab boards, and expect our guards to be more aggressive in penetration using no help. Well other teams have already figured it out (starting from the Minnesota game), and it's not going to work any more. Don't you see even Harden has to force his penetration with less and less success recently, and by doing so he and lin are not going to last the whole season. It's time to put some effort on the fundamentals, starting with how to play a solid P&R, how to out-rebound the other team when you don't have the 3's on a back to back game.

If the players hit their free throws, this thread wouldn't have been bumped, period.

We need better quality bigs. Asik is excellent on D and Patterson and Morris both can shoot, but that's the only positive we have in all of our bigs.

I don't think so. Should we ignore his faults just because of that. Should we not talk about it when we in in spite of McHale?

Kind of funny that McHale is getting bashed for running a similar style as the Spurs. When Popovich does it with success? He's a genius. When McHale does it with possibly more success, when adjusting for talent? What a moron.

I am not for firing McHale yet but I do think it is time for dmo to start getting some minutes (someone earlier also said about giving him minutes also). He may not be a great rebounder but neither have Patterson or Morris. We need a scorer down low and he also is capable of spacing the floor (maybe not to the extent of Morris/Patterson yet). Not to mention he is 7ft. We need post play when our shot is off, and to keep defense off balance.

Spurs: 3 future HOFs, System in place for a decade. Chemistry preserved from previous years
Rockets: 1 star, 2 holdovers from last season's rotation, youngest team in the NBA, best player came onto the team 3 days before the start of the season, rotation consists of players from the DLeague, NY, Detroit, OKC, and Chicago last year.

    Offensive efficiency ranking

    Spurs: 5
    Rockets 7

Watch that efficiency drop in the coming games as he seems to be back to his older boneheaded coaching style. (I hope I will end up eating crow because I want this team to be successful)

Seriously, I think the last few games have exposed not only the lack of a solid PF in our team but also the lack of a good coaching staff.

Spurs have a half court offense to fall back on plus a very deep bench. He uses rookies too, whereas McHale doesn't use our rooks even though the pace we run at is unsustainable with a 9 man rotation. Pop also uses so many screens to free up his guards. It's not even the same thing.
