Right on! Loss to Dallas when they are so down and winnable this season will be the most regrettable, even most likely we won't be the division leader this season.
Not really, unless in the same division. The main reason why we are now standing at 6th in the WC and seem to have the playoff in our bag is that we were able to pull out 14 wins from the East.
Ideally and theoretically you are right, and I agree that our young Rox should hold these as their goals. But until I see that McHale is exerting the same level of attendance to our players' minutes and bring out some new players in rotation like Greg Popovich has been doing, rather than playing just 8 players most of the the games, we have to allow some down time since we are playing human beings, not machines.
playing against bottom feeders are dangerous because they're desperate they're come out strong, hustle on every plays and if teams don't adjust quickly they can't recover even worst if they let the bottom feeders stay in the game long enough they'll come back to win the game.
Lose to a non-playoff team. If we consistently beat playoff teams, if our records match at years end we hold the head to head tie breaker.
Obviously, it's better to lose to a bad team and beat a legitimate play off team. It's always good to have the confidence that you can beat a good team.
Losing to playoff teams + Beating lottery teams = mediocre (14th pick) Losing to bottom feeders + Beating playoff teams = Good but inconsistent (5-7 seed)
as Shaq once said, he hates going against bottom seed teams, specially those that are on 10-15 game losing streak, because you dont want to be the team to break thier streak lol... so most of the time, they had to turn playoff mode for those kinds of teams.... but our team, since we dont have any playoff experience yet I guess these will happen more often than not.
This got me thinking. What if the NBA changed the rules so that an 8th seed can get HCA against a number 1 seed if they win the the match up. It would make things more interesting in both the regular season and the playoffs.
Though, I think Hornets have a very good starting line-up and quite decent bench. So it's not like Hornets are a weak team... don't let the record deceive you
I would definitely rather lose to a bottom feeder. The goal of every basketball team is to win a championship, and you don't meet any bottom feeders in the playoffs. If a team is .750 against playoff teams and 0.400 against non-playoff teams, then that team would probably be the favorite to win the championship.
I don't care which games we lose so much as the way we lose. Sometimes, you see that you're not hitting shots, refs are against you, back-to-backs. Stuff happens. The two kinds of losses I dislike are blowouts(hated the Thunder games) and close games where you lose due to some unlucky bounces. The former indicates a separation in talent. The latter means you're unlucky, and I prefer my team be lucky than unlucky when I want them to not tank.
Logically speaking, you'd rather lose to a team that won't be in the playoffs...because, well...they won't to be in the playoffs, and that's where winning and losing really matters.
I'd rather not lose to anyone, but on the back end of a twofer after a harrowing flight and playing at a high level for the previous couple of weeks, a letdown is not surprising. Better it was the Hornets. It's always good to beat the Lakers.
