Interesting. Here's what I got out of it:

    1) Almost no way we trade/acquire another star before the summer.
    2) IF we engage in a trade (i think we will), it will be small.....probably to allow a luxury tax team to use our cap space in return for a pick. Someone mentioned Rip Hamilton.....that makes sense.
    3) Morey doesn't care what "kind" of star we get. I have a hard time believing we can upgrade at the 2 or 5, and unless Rondo comes available, I don't think there are any 1s to be had. So either SF or PF.

    See, now we're talking.

Greg Oden - big swinging dick

Justin Timberlake - big syphilitic dick

Dwight Howard - probably the biggest dick in the NBA

Guys, I think we've uncovered Morey's master plan!

He has greater length and better teeth than James Harden.

The list involves some health gambles (Bynum), some crappy contracts (Pau) and some bad attitudes (DHo)... that said, I'd still go with most anyone on the list (except Gay - contract toooo long n ugly) we could get while giving up anything but our 4 starters (Lin, Harden, Asik, Parsons - next on the list is DMo or TJones)....

Could a combo of GSmith/Delfino/PPat/MMorris/TD + whatever draft picks we are allowed to trade (owing Atlanta) pull someone off that list?

Hypothetically if all 3 years for Asik go the way they've been going this year, Will he get a contract extension?

Well there's a problem with that...

The Kings are not going to trade Cousins now after the suspension because he has been playing really well since then. Plus, the Kings are not going to trade away their most talented player who will become their foundational player down the road.

Z-Bo, who's a really good player for Memphis, would not be a good fit in Houston. As much as I like Zach, I can think of tons of reasons why he wouldn't be a good fit in Houston. Zach is already 31 years old which doesn't fit the young rebuilding team Houston is going for. Another thing is that his style of play does not fit the Rockets up tempo style. Z-Bo hates to run and because he's a post player, he can't stretch the floor and will only clog the lane which makes it harder for Harden and Lin to penetrate.

In order for Harden and Lin to coexist, the Rockets have to play an up tempo style so that they can get as many possession as possible (the Rockets are #1 in the league in possession), enough possession for Lin to be effective alongside Harden. Z-Bo is a great fit for a team like Memphis who loves to slow the game down and grind it out.

Right now, Harden is the Rockets franchise player and finding players that fits him best is the right way to go. The Rockets have to go for guys who would thrive by playing with Harden and which players best utilize Harden's skills and talent. Chemistry is the most important factor. Look at the Lakers, they thought that by adding stars into a team, that it would automatically work and make them contenders but they are failing miserably right now because their players do not fit with one another and there is no chemistry among them.

A PF that fits this team needs to be able to shoot outside shots, run the floor and play in the post. Who does that sound like to you guys? (Hint: he's from Lithuania).

I'm rather sick and tired of MM/PP at this point. If neither of them are going to play defense, then might as well put Motie in there.

Motie looks lost out there and gets pushed around in the post. He has great offensive moves and a nice touch, but he has to really refine his game before he will get real minutes in a game - and I am pretty sure that wont happen till next season.

Well putting him for 2 mins at the end of games and then criticizing him for not having a feel for the speed/movement of the game ("looking lost") is an unfair criticism. Of course, he looks lost if he's been sitting for 1.5 hrs and then you ask him to play for 2 mins against and with players who are already in the flow of the game.

If you work Motie into the rotation, giving him a few mins here and there, I think he would catch up very quickly (2-3 games). He's not the unexperienced rookie that most rookies are - we shouldn't keep him on the bench all year long.

D-Mo more than anything just needs to get bigger. I don't think the game is too fast for him and I think he's NBA ready offensively (though it'd help if he could hold post-position against guards), but if you think Patterson is a bad defender than you sure wouldn't want to see D-Mo out there. He'd get abused in the post and although I think he's developed into a pretty decent p&r defender, Patterson he is not.

I like D-Mo -- I think he's got more upside than pretty much any of our young guys, but he will need to bulk up to get ahead of Morris/Patterson in the rotation.

He is not in the rotation because he is not ready for the NBA game. I think he has a future, but it will be another year or so before his time comes. Coaches see him in practice so they know. We saw a few summer league games and that was it. He did ok for one or two games there. Just give it time.

I think T Jones just has to wait until we move Morris or Patterson to clear up some playing time. Patience.....

Has no one thought about Chris Bosh. It definitely wont be a the deadline , but if the Heat have to make some salary cuts soon, which everyone believes they will, maybe we can position ourselves to trade for him. Maybe next year, especially if they don't win the championship . I believe the Heat are dedicated to Wade(because of history)so Bosh would be the odd man out. He would be a Very good 4 for us. What do you think?

Here's a good question. Who on the current roster will still be on the roster in 3 years? Not thread worthy, but I'm just curious.
