The M5 is a sick car...and for those that mentioned the CLS, I agree, just an awesome ride. The C class is much douchier than the 3 series...if you are a male.
If you are making 80-120 K and you get a car like this, it just shows everyone what an idiot you are.
unless your life's passion is cars.. then if it soothes you to spend close to 3k per month on car notes out of your 8k/month income, then go for it.
Instead of hating on people that can afford or decide to purchase a car like this.....why not just appreciate a motor vehicle of this magnitude. What is the point of hatin' on others who decide to buy an m5? There is no point.
No one is hating on people who can afford it. However, if you are only making 80-120k and you spend 100k on a car, you need to have your head examined to see if it is made of glue.
Not getting rejected for a loan doesn't mean you can afford the car. Why don't people understand this?
Why don't people understand we're just talking about a cool car? And not about douchebags or auto loans? And unlike houses I seriously doubt anyone went in debt or lost their kid's college fund over an M5.
How can people afford 100k car? They learn to save and put down half and finance the rest which makes their payment of only 800 something a month for the next 5 years. You guys act like people pay 2000k a month on these cars. Its affordable if you can put half down.
It's also affordable if $2000 a month is... affordable. Wow. What a concept. Even if you 'only' make $120k a year, that's $85k after tax or about $7k a month. Sounds kinda crazy if you spend 30% of your salary on a car but what if your house is paid off? You have no student loans? There are plenty of reasons why this isn't a big deal. People (not you Coach) who are freaking out are projecting their own personal situation onto someone else's purchase. Just because you can't afford it doesn't make it crazy for other people to buy it. Can't you guys just let us enjoy our car talk without being called douches, financial idiots, etc?
You'd either have a salary of like 175k plus or you own a business and can depreciate the vehicle/write it off as a business expense. Guys I work with that own their own businesses will take these cars, drive em 2 years then swap em out but their 'business' pays for them.
Asian and yes I do own a business. I own a shopping center but before that I own a dry cleaning business. Saved enough and bought a land and now I just collect rents. I put half down on my gtr and will pay it off in 2 years. So when the new model comes out in 2018. I have the option to trade my car in
Wait, whoa. From the "Suits" thread where you posted your pic (though blurred) you looked like you're only in your 20's and you own all that? Damn, son.
This. Disclaimer: I can't afford a new M5. I do ok for myself. Nothing "baller," but I don't stress about money. I've also handled a lot of my debt, so my purchasing power for things is *on average* higher than my peers. On the flip side, some of my peers make a decent amount more than I do, but are horrible with their finances. Can't even go eat lunch. There so many things that go into it, and making blanket statements shows who the douches/haters really are. Give props to someone who can afford something nice. As Katt Williams said on haters: "Sittin in a raggedy car lookin at the ***** in an Escalade like he made a f***** up decision."
You take that # and add 11 and thats how old i am now. It helps when you have no kids to tied you down and before the dry cleaning business I work for my parents in their Laundrymat business. Saved 30k and finance the rest on the dry cleaning business from one of my parents friends. Saved my ass off again and sold the dry cleaning business and go in as a partnership with my parents to build a shopping center.
