You also have to figure that Wilt would have had better nutrition, weight training and coaching tools available to him if he played now. Putting up those numbers against professional players of any level for an entire season is pretty impressive. I agree that the competition was overall less and he no doubt got by alot just on physical domination, but then again so did Shaq in his prime. I think some people already forget how physical Shaq was and Wilt with todays training, strength and nutrition options would have been at least similar
Ofcourse, Since fouling out would help his team win. When you are that important for your team it might be a good idea to let the opponent score instead of fouling out.
It was going both ways though, was a poorly ref'ed game. Its like they were told to swallow their whistles for this game
Shocked he got 25. He had to be exhausted carrying the rest of the team on his back all game. Dished it out so many times with his teammates coming up with nothing.
Harden didn't play well tonight, but tonight's game shows why he should be in MVP talks. Without him, this team is garbage, Cleveland bad without Lebron. Harden has made this team relevant again and on a lot of nights elevates the play of the team around him. He can't do it all by himself and tonight in the 4th, he couldn't bring it home and no one else could make a shot.
Come on, man. I respect you, but that was just a bizarre thing to say. The game is essentially over and James has a chance, probably the only decent chance in his career, to break a very old franchise record. What was he supposed to do? Miss on purpose? Not try to score very late in the game because we looked to be losing? We still had a chance to win with 3 minutes left. Should he have asked to go to the bench? I just don't get that comment.
Stat padding? There's nothing wrong with trying to score when you're down and the shot clock is still on. Weird comment.
It was under 20 secs left in the game when the Rockets had that last possession where Harden got his FTs to reach 25pts.
I disagree. How many times did the refs ignore him getting fouled driving to the basket? He most definitely deserved it. Anyways, I'm happy for him. Few players can score like that so consistently and even fewer can do it that efficiently. I love his game .
I believe the shot clock was still on, and even if it wasn't with 20+ seconds for the possession the trailing team will always attempt to score in that situation.
