If they are Unconstitutional, then there is a procedure to also declare it so, so there's nothing to worry about it. It seems you're putting the cart before the horse and might need to wait to find out what the executive order says before evaluating it.

 

I'm fine with people keeping whatever guns they'd like, as long as they are part of a well-regulated militia.

Though I assume a well-regulated militia will have certain restrictions on the weapons they use and what they can use them for. It will also require regular service.

 

Didn't even say what he is going to pass. Perhaps it's a longer waiting period on rifles. I have nothing against gun ownership but the 3 minute background check for a rifle is pretty ridiculous.

Yes there is a process. There would still be something to worry about as the process doesn't always get it right. The difference between Obama and I, is I don't advocate going around the process because I fear the result.

Even if that was true then why don't the Dems just bring forth a motion to change it? That's the way the ****ing system works. We don't live by edicts and decrees. If democrats want to amend an amendment, there is a process for that and it isn't by presidential mandate.

You specifically said the system is not by edicts and decrees. The reality is that our system does allow edicts and decress. Maybe you're backtracking now and saying you're OK with it, but you certainly weren't then.

And interesting that you say that the Supreme Court should shoot something down as unconstitutional when you don't even know what the Executive Order would say or do. Doesn't really sound much like you care about the process of determining whether it's legal or not - you just want whatever result you've already decided on.

And if that is the case here then by all means the checks and balances of our Constitution should be employed. I am not going to say whether this will be or not as I haven't seen what Obama is proposing but we do have checks and balances.
