My argument was simply that, "urinating is a natural part of life. It's what our penis's are designed to do" can be said in the exact same context.

Well then the argument would be where is an acceptable place to do either natural function.
It is not acceptable or legal to urinate in public. It's definitely legal to breastfeed in public. And acceptable or not is a personal, moral (to some people) question I guess.
Having a son who was breastfed for a long time, I have a very close, personal perspective and feeling on the matter.

 

Then let's change it to burping or farting. Still not the best analogy, but I think everyone can see the point.

No one thinks this is a crime. But it's just an issue of manners.

 

Until your burping or farting is necessary to sustain life and health for a small crying, squirming, not sticking to time schedule baby then I agree it is far from a good analogy. And if the mother is covering up (as was the case in this story and is the case in 99% of mothers) then this is no different than you discreetly walking to the corner and dropping your silent assassin.
